To Whom It May Concern:
" margin: 0px">My name is [redacted] and I own and operate Special Parking Services since 1989. The incident that occurred at 3-Thirty-restaurant in Newport Beach California, on February 25, 2014, was unfortunate. The vehicle was over years old and was not in very good condition. Mr[redacted] parked his car with the valet service and did not mention anything about his key or the vehicles ignition. Both valets that were working that night are tenured valets that have been in the business for several years. The valet that parked his car directly in front of the restaurant. He parked the vehicle, pulled the key out of the ignition and locked up the vehicle. When Mr[redacted] came out of the restaurant to leave the second valet that was working retrieved his keys. He saw that there was not a key on his ring for his vehicle. At that time he asked Mr[redacted] if he had the key. Mr[redacted] went directly to his vehicle looked into the ignition, pulled the remaining part of the key out of his ignition and told the valet that the key broke off in the ignition. He then went and talked to the manager of the restaurant and she gave him my card
The question we had at that moment is why did Mr[redacted] go directly to his vehicle, look in the ignition and retrieve the broken key? It was odd to say the least. The valet asked to see his key and look at the ignition of the vehicle. He found that both the key and the ignition had been glued together and that there was damage to the key and the ignition before Mr[redacted] came into the valet parking kiosk
I told Mr[redacted] our findings and that we were not going to replace his key because he had a per existing condition before we parked his vehicle. He was not very happy and that is why you received this complaint
Over my years of being in business the customer always comes first. I have never had a complaint with your establishment because I always listen to the customer and make sure that there needs are met In this case it was a preexisting condition so we could not cover any of the damage that Mr[redacted] thought took place.

Review: After leaving the 3thirty3 restaurant in Newport Beach ca I received my car back from the valet service to find my key broken off in the ignition. I showed the valet driver who called his supervisor [redacted] and I spoke to the restaurant manger who told me the responsibility would be on the valet service and that [redacted] would contact me. After waiting for 3 days I called [redacted]. Once on the phone he told me that because my car is a 1998 that the wear and tear on my car caused my key to be broken off in the ignition and that "it would have eventually broken on its own. And that I must have "rinky dinked" the key" and that's why it broke off in the ignition. My ford mustang is well taken care of and the key I purchased less than a year ago and it was in excellent shape. [redacted] was very rude on the phone with me and hung up on me after he said they would not replace my key and that he had another more important call to take. My key being broken was in no way my fault and it was 100% the valet drivers carelessness that caused this.Desired Settlement: I would very much like it to be known how unprofessional [redacted] was with me on the phone and how unwilling he was to take care of my key being broken by his employee. I have never had any trouble like this before and cannot believe how I was treated by [redacted] and his company "special parking services". I paid over $100 to dine at the 3thirty3 restaurant and am not going to spend another $150 to replace my car key with the transponder chip inside for the carelessness of the valet
