This "company" goes by several different event names: Specialized Events, Women's Life and Style Expo, My Health and Wellness Expo, Women's Day Out Expo, Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Expo and another that has been removed from his (*** ***) list of what events he does Since many of the complaints, he's removed his Women's Life and Style Expo from ***I paid $for a vendor space in Tucson, AZ as well as Mesa, AZ Both shows (I use that term loosely) were a bust BIG TIME! The Tucson event: Maybe people The event itself was off the beaten path at *** *** @ Reid Park Because I had paid my vendor space at the same time, I was unable to get a refund for the Mesa event, otherwise I would have But I showed up with my inventory with other vendors A number of vendors didn't even show up probably because of previous experience At this event, maybe people wandered in This event was advertised to us as being at the Mesa Convention Center; however, it was an out building off the beaten path of the convention center I made three sales...to fellow vendors I did not make my booth fee at either events Lost SO much money*** touted that there would be 1000-people That is what vendors look for...attendance...in the hopes of selling their products and making a profit Every...single...vendor at the two events did not make their fees, let alone, make any type of profitVendors left early at both events There was some confrontation by vendors at the 2nd event; however, *** has no conscious and therefore, no sympathy for the plight of the people there We also had to provide a door prize worth $for his event Ridiculous!
Vendors Beware! That's all I can say I hope people think to come to this site to read I did it after the fact There has GOT to be a way to stop this guy!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. This company has been defrauding small and local business all over the country for years and they continue to get away with itThere are numerous complaints that nearly mirror my complaint filed with the Revdex.com, festival advertising sites (who are in the process of investigating for permanent removal of SEI from their sites), the ** *** *** ***, and online blogs against SEI yet they persist in their activities and their arrogant dismissivness of the outcomes of this fraud upon their victimsI reject their claims of innocence! SEI is a professional criminal "bait-and-switch" operation and they need to be held accountable!PERIOD!*** ***

This is a response to Ms***:We have attached a copy of our Exhibitor Application which:1) Ms*** selected to participate at the venue, *** *** *** *** indivcating she knew where the venue was located in advance of the event.2) We are attaching in addition to our first response a tear-sheet copy of the 1/page full color ad from the *** Reporter-*** as Ms*** wants the Revdex.com to believe her that there was no advertising for this event. This is in addition to the THREE full color 1/page ads that appeared in the *** *** *** newspaper.3)Highlighted in yellow and in BOLD PRINT that our events may in fact be Co-Located. Ms*** agreed to this when she chose to participate.4) No where does our organization guarantee attendance or participation. This is also highlighted in yellow on page two of Ms***'s application/contract.5)Tables were not just scattered all thought out the gymnasium as Ms*** wants the Revdex.com to believe. In fact I commend the staff of the *** *** *** *** for doing a very good job at laying out the gymnasium according to the floor plan. 6) In response to basketball games being played we are attaching a written statement from the *** *** *** *** stating we rented and paid for the entire gymnasium for our event rental. 7)In addition to our internal e-mail blast and a e-mail blast that went out from Bella Spark a local Magazine in *** ***, CO.On line we posted our event on *** ** ** ** *** ***as only a few examplesOnce a show date passes it is difficult to recover these sort of on line examples as they become obsolete after an event date passes. This is our final response before getting down to an "elementary" level of addressing this issue. We do have numerous photos on file of our on the street signage for the *** *** event if the Revdex.com would like to see these photos. We typically do not respond to Revdex.com complaints due to time constraints. being we are at the end of our season we have a little time to respond and are a little less busy.We wish everyone the best of holidays.*** ***

We have participated in shows during and have found the Women's Day Out to be actually an extremely profitable show/event for us in Arizona and Nevada we look forward to working with Scott during and beyond Thank you*** ***

This individual received their refund and cashed her $refund check on 4/15/ End of Story We continue to believe like MANY BUSINESSES that the Revdex.com DOES NOT support BUSINESS and has turned into a NEGATIVE BLOG This is the reason businesses DO NOT become members of a Revdex.com
Even human errors are able to become blown up out of proportion on the Revdex.com Blog so we will NEVER be a supporter NOR much less a MEMBER of such a NEGATIVELY RUN ORGANIZATION This complaint was caused simply by a double booking and two exhibitors were charged and THIS INDIVIDUAL was refunded her booth fee due to the fact that someone else submitted their exhibitor application EARLIER than them That is called a HUMAN ERROR and then being 100% FAIR we simply refunded this individuals $payment, Thank you once again Revdex.com for allowing a human error to create a silly posting on our behalf We will continue to spread the word about how poorly the Revdex.com continues to be operated SK***4/19/

I did drive completely around the building where the event was held trying to determine a) if I were in the right location (it wasn't obvious at all), and b) find a way to load my display in (also not clearly indicated), and never noticed any bannersAs for the other efforts he supposedly went to, it is very easy to fake such things these days with photoshop. If there are receipts proving that "great expense" was made to specifically advertise this event, I would very much like to see them.
For additional proof that he had no expectations of a good turnout, he did not hire a reasonable number of personnel as would be needed to handle large crowdsAs far as any of us could tell, there were just two people running the eventIf he had truly expected "thousands" of attendees, then there would have been staff to hand out welcome bags, staff running the sound system, an emcee to announce the seminars that never happened, staff supporting the vendors, and moreLarge events require large numbers of people to keep things running smoothly.
This event was never intended to succeed, and therefore was intentional fraud, plain and simple

I will be brief and be 100% honest that Mr. [redacted] ([redacted]) posted a VERY poor/negative comment on our Facebook Page and it was immediately removed.  In addition, Mr. [redacted] also posted a review on Yelp.Com in which Yelp responded verbatim as follows: Hello, We're writing to let...

you know that we've evaluated [redacted] review of Women's Day Out Expo that you recently reported. After assessing the review carefully against our Content Guidelines, we agree that this review should be removed. We rely on community engagement to help keep Yelp useful. complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. While I understand SEI's response that the deposit is non-refundable, at the time of transfer I wasn't asking for a refund.  I was filling a booth FOR HIM!  I did the leg work to ensure the booth I had reserved for my company remained filled.  Without my work, there would not have been a business in that booth ... and from what I have been told by other attendees ... he needed it filled!!  His response in such a cold-hearted manner is evidence of how he runs his business.  Shady and unethical.  It is also representative of how he truly treats his vendors and customers.  It's no wonder he has such a terrible rating with people through the Revdex.com.  It won't be long and there won't be any further dealings with this company because continuing to treat your business PARTNERS like he is, nobody will work with him.  If he would answer his phone or respond to emails and WORK with his clients, things could have been handled MUCH differently.  The fact that he would not respond to my phone calls and was very rude and cold to any email communication I was able to have with him (he replied ONCE) shows the unethical business practices he is conducting. From an ethical standpoint I would at least think he could (or SHOULD) refund the initial deposit because now he's just making money off of a person who was trying to do the right thing and not hurt HIM!!  Poor business, VERY poor business.

Thank you for this opportunity to share a personal experience with this company who produces the Women's Day Out Expo. Our company sells insurance and relies on consumer shows to get leads for prospective customers. The promoter of this show Scott K[redacted] took extraordinary measures to communicate with our organization prior to the event, and aggressively promoted the event we attended at Mesa Convention Center and appears to be extremely savvy when it comes to social media marketing and also conventional marketing. We gained over 56 valuable leads at the event we attended on May 7th, 2016 and we normally may get 4-6 at a consumer show so needless to say we were very pleased with the outcome of our company's attendance at the Women's Day Out Expo. I just wanted to spread the word about our most favorable experience. Thank you for this opportunity from the Revdex.com.

Although we can appreciate this individual's comments however stretched and inaccurate we are going to respond although briefly due to our staff's workload. Our event was held at the [redacted] site of numerous annual events such as ours. In fact is was one of our...

exhibitors who recommended this venue.  As for someone seeking information about this specific event it would have been easily found as we are a highly advertised event locally and nationally on community calendars locally in the [redacted], ** area in print via Social Media, direct mailing via e-mail and in print with VERY large full color 1/4 page ads in BOTH The [redacted] Coloradoan and inside the [redacted] Herald.  Both these ads ran 3 consecutive days on BOTH publications.  I would have provided copies of invoices however they are at our CPA's offices at the moment since we're at the end of 3rd quarter now. As for attendance we were also disspointed but we do not guarantee participation nor attendance and all exhibitors/vendors agree to this with their signed exhibitor application.  We can only go by the previous years attendance which is never an exact duplicate of the following event.  This is true with ANY event not just our organizations.  Money was spent on marketing this event that is not mentioned hear as well and this response is brief due to a lack of time.  We are a very busy organization and we are in the midst of our busiest time of year.  All photos on our web site are representations of numerous previous shows we have organized.  We DO NOT appreciate lies, stretches of our efforts or lack thereof by someone such as this individual.  Thank you for the opportunity to respond.SEI

I paid over $300 for a table and chair to be a vendor at this show. As did 20 other vendors. When no people showed up at the event we waited and waited. Some of us requested our money back and were denied and were then told if we left early we would be charged another $100. The man in charge was rude and even made a girl cry. I have been to slow shows before, but this company does shows all over the U.S and claims to put on a great show.

This individual failed to mention the large banners posted outside the event venue, the THREE Large 1/4 quarter page newspaper ads placed in the Local Fort Collins [redacted] and the large ads also placed in the [redacted] Reporter.  In addition a massive ad campaign which is mirrored on...

[redacted] was conducted by zip code at a very great expense.  the campaign was for 10 straight days.  This individual did in fact see the newspaper ads as we had them on display at exhibitor check in.  In addition ads appeared in several (Over 7 local calendars namely in the [redacted] .Com. [redacted].Com, [redacted].com, [redacted].com) etc. for which we can provide receipts if necessary.  It was also a brand new venue location that we selected.  Nonetheless in our contracts with exhibitors we do NOT guarantee attendance nor participation.  It's amazing how this individual neglects to mention WHAT WE DID to promote the event.   SEI

I just felt that I should review this company Specialized Events, Inc. based in Gold Canyon, Arizona. My personal experience has been amazing especially from the perspective of communication and response time in forming me about booth availability and as a former show participant. I sell hair accessories, make up and skin care products and the traffic promised was higher than the company provided and I actually should have brought more product than I did. Needless to say we are participating again in almost all 2016 show from SEI or Specialized Events, Inc. A personal thank you to the Revdex.com for allowing me to post such an extraordinary report on this company and its owner, Scott K[redacted] Enterprises Scottsdale, AZ

Attn: Revdex.comResponse to [redacted] ComplaintFrom: Specialized Events, Inc.We will address many of the topics covered in Ms. [redacted] Revdex.com complaint here.  First, Ms. [redacted] did not include a copy of her signed Contract/Exhibitor Application.  We have...

attached a clean copy of Ms,. [redacted] Contract/Exhibitor Application for the Revdex.com's review.1.  Ms. [redacted] mentions her disappointment and creating false expectations:  All of our photos on social media ie. [redacted], [redacted]r etc. are from our previous shows and some even from the previous Loveland, CO show in 2013.  2. Ms. [redacted] mentions that we use inaccurate marketing language when in fact all exhibitors are e-mailed informatin prior to the event in what "local" ways each specific event is marketed. As in the past with this show we utilized both the Loveland Herald with 3 full color 1/4 page ads and also the Coloradoan (Fort Collins) with 2 full color newspaper ads, [redacted] Marketing, local on-line calendars etc.  As indicated on our web site, ad campaigns are subject to change and can vary from market to market.3.  Ms. [redacted] directly comments on phots that create a false perception.  All photps are from Women's events produced by our organization.  We cannot lie or deceive about full exhibit halls and convention centers NOR do we Guarantee attendance or participation and this is covered and acknowledged by all show exhibitors with their signature in their contract.4. Ms. [redacted] mentions that we have a Revdex.com complaint from our Tucson show from a previous year.  We cannot control who has good experiences and sales results.  This is all dependent on the show exhibitor.  There was also VERY little social media support by the Loveland group of exhibitors which was a BIG downside for this event.  We usually have MANY or a MAJORITY of our show exhibitors "share" social media flyers that appear on our [redacted] show, only 2 out of 30 some participants actually "shared" our show flyer.  Ms. [redacted] did not participate in this which is soemthing we have no control over but nonetheless offer to all exhibitors to support attendance at our shows.5.  Ms. [redacted] complains about out booth fees.  We NEVER receive ANY COMPLAINTS about our booth fees however when a show has a great number less show attendees than is typical it "appears" our booth fees are above average when we charge the same exact amount nationwide to all show exhibitor participants to be fair.6.  Our show was scheduled on the same weekend at The Outlets at Loveland as a VERY established show which is a "Gun Show" and their show also had a VERY poor attendance on the same weekend and only a few feet away from out show location.  There was ONE very obvious problem with our show weekend in that it was the VERY FIRST WARM WEEKEND IN NORTHERN COLORADO.  Our show is indoors and was not where people wanted to be.  Many exhibitors came up to the show coordinator and understood and there were a few like Ms. [redacted] who did NOT want to acknowledge the "weather" being even a small factor in our less than normal attendance.  Our exhibitor contract includes a "no guarantee of attendance or show exhibitor participation.  This was signed of course by Ms. [redacted].  It's no wonder Ms. [redacted] did not want to include her signed contract with this complaint for fear of showing proof of her acknowledgement of all exhibitor terms and conditions.7.  Ms. [redacted] is requesting 1/2 of her booth fee as a refund.  If our organization would receive a refund from the show venue, newspapers, [redacted], web calendars etc. we would be happy to do so.  We are unsure where Ms. [redacted] feels the money would come from, "donations"?  We don't receive donations of any sort for instances of "unhappiness" which is very rare indeed thankfully.  As anyone can see by our web site we are very successful at our events with the rare exception when weather or acts of God have played a part such as hurricanes etc. which HAVE affected our event on the East coast. It is a pleasure to respond to Revdex.com complaints when time allows.  Like all show organizers we are affected by various things and when you throw in the "human factor" we like anyone else cannot please all.Specialized Events, Inc.

I paid $325 for a vendor space in Tucson, AZ as well as Mesa, AZ. Both shows (I use that term loosely) were a bust. BIG TIME! The Tucson event: Maybe 20 people. The event itself was off the beaten path at [redacted] @ Reid Park. Because I had paid my vendor space at the same time, I was unable to get a refund for the Mesa event, otherwise I would have. This event was advertised to us as being at the Mesa Convention Center; however, it was an out building off the beaten path of the convention center. I made three sales...to fellow vendors. I did not make my booth fee at either events. Lost SO much money.
[redacted] touted that there would be 1000-4000 people. That is what vendors look for...attendance...in the hopes of selling their products and making a profit. Every...single...vendor at the two events did not make their fees, let alone, make any type of profit.
Vendors left early at both events. There was some confrontation by vendors at the 2nd event; however, [redacted] has no conscious and therefore, no sympathy for the plight of the people there. We also had to provide a door prize worth $25 for his event. Ridiculous!
