We contracted [redacted] to repair out feild stone foundation exteriorly, bulkhead, reset front steps, repair a previously poured unlevel sill, and multiple location spot foundation repairs on the inside of the basement. The total amount of our contract was [redacted] for these repairs. He agreed to start on the [redacted] of [redacted] 2015 and be completed within 3 weeks. However, he did not start on the [redacted] and within a 12 day period only worked a total of 25 hours. He also had a helper he started to bring with him, however he didn't have workmans compensation insurance and when I asked for a copy of proof of insurnace he refused to supply me with a copy. He also claimed that his price was so high because the materials were going to come up close to [redacted] dollars. After he had a large protion of the materials delievered we asked to see and a copy the actual invoices for the materials for our records, which he would not supply. I had taken a picture of the invoice when it was delievered and went to the place of purchase to get a quote for the materials that has been delievered, which only came up to [redacted] had told us that the materials he had already had delivered were [redacted] We terminated our contract with [redacted] after taking all these issues into consideraton. We requested that he refund us the difference between the amount we paid him of [redacted] and [redacted] at his hourly rate for the 25 hours he had worked and the actual materials that had been delievered thus far.
