Specialty Roofing, Inc. Reviews (5)

A meeting is set with the homeowner Wednesday April 30th, 2014. As a note, Warranties on repairs are for 2 years as required by [redacted]. The last repair on this house was back in 2010 with no reports of any leaks until now.

The homeowner attempted to contact us by leaving a voicemail after hours last night March 11th and sending an email at 1:11 AM this morning March 12th. The proposal that was sent to the Homeowner was for replacing broken tile, broken mudballs and general routine maintenance on the roof along with...

securing any loose tile. If the Homeowner would like us to ONLY secure loose tile, we will be willing to perform JUST this repair at no charge. As background: This house was completed in 2006 and carried only a 2 year warranty from the Homebuilder. Over the past several years, we have made repairs to houses in the area caused by storms and high winds which can cause tiles to shift and come loose.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.I have contacted the business immediately after reading their response, and was told that they will contact me soon to schedule an appointment to fix the loose tiles. However, it has been a week now with no return call.Still waiting.

Regards,

Review: Specialty Roofing was the original installer for the roof of my home. The roof was installed in 2006, less than 10 years ago. Recently we noticed that rolls of tiles are sliding down the roof. One of the tiles almost fell off the roof if not for our neighbor who warned us ahead. An independent professional roofer inspected the roof and told me that the tiles are not properly secured during installation. I then contacted Specialty Roofing who came to inspect and provided us an estimate. They intended to charge us for the job that they did not complete during installation. I have tried to contact them but have not heard back from them.Desired Settlement: They should secure all loose roof tiles, especially on the top tier.

Review: I called this company because of the history my builder recommended them and the history they have at fixing the same leak in my roof. I spoke with [redacted] in mid-March and set up a time for someone to come out on April 11, 2014 to take a look at the leak. I explained to [redacted] that it is the same area that leaked about 4 years ago but I have water damage showing through the dry wall at several locations. I wanted someone to give me a professional opinion on what to do next. On Friday April 11, 2014, Manuel came out and said there was some tile damage and needed to fix the area for the leak to stop. He said it was the same general area as last service back in 2010 but he didn't know for sure since he didn't fix that. I asked him what I could do about the dry wall and how much damage was done. He said that he was unable to give me any advice or tell me anything more for liability reasons. He took pictures of the inside walls and told me that his supervisor would call me the following Monday 4/14/14.

I did not hear from anyone, so I called on Wednesday 4/16/14 and spoke to [redacted]. She said that she would pass along my message to someone and would get back with me. In the meantime, I did receive my invoice for the service, yet I have not been able to speak with anyone regarding the things I originally requested. I called a 3rd time on Monday 4/21/14 and spoke with [redacted] again. I explained my story and she said that she was going to talk to [redacted] (supervisor) and [redacted] (boss) and someone would get back with me.

It is now Wednesday April 23, 2014 (almost 2 weeks from my service day and several phone calls later). I have not had any return phone calls. I am very disappointed in their customer service and at this point, I will not be using them in the future nor referring anyone to them.Desired Settlement: A professional opinion about the water damage done from the leak and how I would go about fixing it.

What is their warranty or guarantee that the leak won't occur for a 3-4th time?
