Review: Originally when we contacted [redacted] everything went great. He was willing to work with us on price and was able to meet with us on weekends since we work long hours.[redacted] was going to put a wood railing inside of our house breaking our split floors. He was also going to put a vinyl railing on the exterior of our house on the front porch.Once we settled on a price [redacted] wrote up a very professional contract and we both signed it and we both received a copy. I paid him a $1,500 deposit so he could purchase the supplies. That day we even discussed him doing some other work for us and asked him to send us a quote for that work.On April 26th he sent us the quote for that extra work.On May 1st I let him know that we put a lockbox on our house so he would be able to get into the house and do the work when we weren't home. On May 1st he replied:Hi, We began working on your hand railings in the shop today. We will probably finish up the shop work tomorrow.Thanks,[redacted]Spectra Construction Services, Inc.After that we never heard from him again. I emailed him on May 3rd asking him about the price for an additional swing gate to add to the railing. No response. I emailed him on May 7th asking him if he'd seen my email. No response. I decided to call his phone numbers. The cell went straight to voicemail. The business/home phone was busy. I emailed him again on May 13th asking if he'd seen my email. In that time both my husband and I called him at least 5 times. Again the cell went straight to voicemail and the business phone was busy. On May 16th I sent him another email asking why he hadn't returned our calls. No response. During this time we continued to call him on his cell and home phone and left a bunch of messages on his cell. Today I finally emailed him and if he was ever going to make our railings and if not I wanted my $1,500 deposit back. So far no response.I have no idea what happened to Jim. He was so responsive in the beginning and then he just disappeared. He disappeared with our $1500Desired Settlement: I want my $1,500 refunded.

(Project [redacted], Agreement [redacted]. Contract sum : $23,500.00)**. [redacted] received a check of $5,000 (five thousand) as the deposit for the project.04/01/2013 to 05/14/2013 : SCSI applied, but failed to obtain the required building permit from [redacted] County, due to structural engineering flaws in the blueprints designed by SCSI associate/s. 05/15/2013 : **. [redacted] agreed to cancel the foyer building project, and to refund the deposit to the homeowner.05/23/2013 to present : After a week of waiting for the refund check, the homeowner made several attempts to contact **. [redacted], through emails/texts/phone calls/certified mail, but so far there has been no response from **. [redacted].Desired Settlement: I would like to have the refund check.
