I am rejecting this response because: two (2) actions I've created with the Revdex.com in order to resolve my issues with both of these companies. The 1st action is a review of K&N Engineering on an issue I had with a Spectre Performance filter that failed and how they handle it. It was a Spectre Performance filter but the K&N Engineering Warranty department handles those type of issues for Spectre PerformanceK&N Engineering owns Spectre Performance (TM) hence my dealings and communications with K&N EngineeringStrikingly as soon as I had an issue with the filter I was first directed to their online warranty page indicating a 90-day limited warrantyThis review outlines what happened in diagnosing this filter's issues etcand the issues I encountered while dealing with K&N Engineering, specifically their warranty departmentMost of these communications were via emails providing a wealth of documentation. For the record, when the failed filter was detected I immediately replaced it with a FRAM filter; never was a replacement filter requested or providedI did have the oil tested but later found out the sample was flawedIt is my intention to re-test the oil with a better sample from the originally saved oil. These two misnomers in their latest response I clarified in previous emails and my other Revdex.com responses. The 2nd action is a complaint against Spectre Performance on another filter I had for another vehicle but never installed. With all of the issues I had with the 1st filter in my other vehicle I refused to put my other vehicle in harms way by using this other potentially flawed filterThis complaint is directly in response to their day limited warranty which Spectre Performance, via the K&N Engineering Warranty department, tells the consumer after one of their products has an issue. No where on or in the box is there any reference to their day limited warrantyIn fact the filter box specifically references Lifetime Filter. After creating these two actions with the Revdex.com, I finally received a contact request from a K&N Engineering product managerThis occurred approximately two months after being told to go away - case closedI did get in touch with the product manager over both these issues, but then was told the case had been transferred to their legal departmentSeveral phone calls later, I had a lengthy discussion of my issues on 3/16/I was told their protocol prevented them from re-opening the case but they yet still wanted to resolve the issues apparently because of these Revdex.com actions. The legal department did suggest that we touch base in a week but I requested something in writing, my preference in going forward with the legal department as many options and guarantees were discussed. It appears that this line of communication was not an option from their standpoint; hence here I am again airing my issues and discontent with these two companies via a Revdex.com public venue.I would like to thank the Revdex.com as I was basically quietly told by K&N Engineering that my case was closed but now I have their attentionI respect the Revdex.com and very much appreciate the venue it affords me in highlighting the issues and the direct relationship between Spectre Performance and K&N EngineeringIt also provides a vehicle to potentially help other consumers of their products and services

[redacted] first contacted Spectre to file a warranty claim in Jan 2016. A new filter was sent to [redacted] so that he could send his old filter back to our warranty department for inspection. [redacted] received the replacement Spectre filter, but refused to return the claimed “damaged” one....

Nonetheless, in keeping with our warranty processes, we requested that [redacted] send an oil sample directly to a independent lab for analysis. [redacted] sent his oil sample directly to an Oil Analysis laboratory and the results of the analysis of [redacted] oil sample indicated there was no issue with the oil, and the parts were wearing normally. While [redacted] claimed to have a check Engine Light on his vehicle, he has supplied no information or evidence to support his claim that the check Engine Light was caused by the Spectre Filter. Nothing more has been heard from Mr. [redacted], until January, 2017, one year after the original date that [redacted] contacted Spectre to file his claim. [redacted] has offered no additional information to support his claim but now, one year after his claim and 2 years after his purchase, wants to send the filter to Spectre for inspection. Spectre has a 90 day Limited warranty but was willing to work with [redacted] 1 year after his purchase. Since [redacted] refused to cooperate with the required Spectre warranty processes, providing no receipt for his original Spectre purchase and no evidence or additional information in order to investigate his claims, his file has been closed. Further, [redacted] references K&N in his review provided to Revdex.com, however K&N has nothing to do with his claim against Spectre. K&N products and Spectre products are different and are sold with different warranties. His complaint is regarding a Spectre product, which is sold with a Spectre 90 day Limited warranty.
