Spectrum Financial Investments

Review: I was contacted by an Agent who explained to me what was necessary to receive my loan for $25,000.00. It was explained that I would be receiving a SECURE loan due to my credit rating. I was given 4 options to secure the loan: a co-signer, property collateral, monetary advance collateral, or $3200 insurance purchase. I opted for the monetary advance collateral option, which was $1,601.00 and would cover my first 4 monthly payments. After signing the contract (where I missed the Mandatory Insurance clause) and sending $1,601 by Western Union money in minutes, I was informed that a mistake had been made and that I was required to pay the mandatory $3200 insurance. The agent spoke to the lender (who is in Toronto, Ontario) and to the financial department at Spectrum Financial and advised me that if I paid an additional $800 I would receive my loan within 4-6 hours. I sent $800 using Western Union money in minutes on Friday, October [redacted], 2014. I did not receive any funds within 4-6 hours and I called several times on the Saturday during their business hours. I received no call back. I tried reaching my agent on Monday, Oct. [redacted] and finally spoke with the [redacted], who advised me that I had been misinformed and that the mandatory insurance is actually $6400. At that point I requested a refund of the $2,400.00 that I had already sent. I was informed that it takes 15 days for Spectrum to get the money back from the lender and then a certified cheque is sent to me. I have since learned from another loan company (Heritage) that it shouldn't take more than 3-4 days to get my money back. I have been trying for 2 days now to reach someone at Spectrum Financial and absolutely no one is answering their phones or calling me back. Also, the address on this company's website ([redacted]) does not match the address that is on the contract I was sent (which is the one I've listed for this business). I fear that I have been scammed :(Desired Settlement: I had to borrow the $2,400.00 from my mother, who is retired and who took this money out of her Savings. I just want the money back ASAP. I don't understand how the funds can be expected to be sent to the lender using Western Union's money in minutes, but the lender cannot refund the sender in the same manner. If the lender has enough money to provide loans of substantial amounts, such as $25,000.00 then surely they can afford to refund $2,400 in a more timely fashion.
