My adult son died in at Spectrum Butterwort, I just now got records of his stay because we could not afford before, We were rushed into taking him off life support and in shock with him in a coma for weeks
We had no where to relax or sleep the waiting room in heart center ICU was filled with people and families and kids and we couldn't afford a room and after weeks we couldn't take any more
We alos got different news that he had had a stroke, then a year later heard he had not, the records I just got put me right back through living his death again except I couldn't hold his hand and most I could not read illegablewe feel they pushed us because he had no insurance
Now it's too late to do anything about itThe morning he died the social worker didn't even come, I ran almost literally ran out having to not see him laying there dead and wait and not realizing it would be the last time I saw him, touched and kissed him
I brought my sister-in-law to Spectrum Health, Grand Rapids, on Friday, August 27thThe room was filthy, floor had caps all over, old blood on the floor, the linen bag was filled with soiled sheets from a previous patient, no paper towel, the sink was not wiped down at all, dust all over the equipment, old blood on the walls, and the baseboards were filthyI was very disappointed with the cleanliness of this hospitalI'm not sure if I will ever come back
My wife was vomiting uncontrollably for several hours and was dehydrated. She could not stand without falling so I had her transported to the ER at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital. They hooked her up to a bag of saline solution and gave her Zofran and who knows what else. It was not effective. They drew some blood and did an xray, then diagnosed it with a catchall (for a who knows or cares) of GASTRITIS. Then she was discharged in no better condition than when she arrived. It is now a day later and her condition has not improved or changed.
