Ran a sprinkler PVC line under addition & line broke which caused major floodingDidn't put fittings around addition so interior flooded twice. [redacted] put an addition on my room in 2000. I asked to have the room made 1 foot longer. He made the room longer but left the PVC pipe which carried the sprinkler water to the back under the house. In 2006, the pipe burst and flooded outside. I paid $2,500 to a licensed contractor to find the pipe and re-route it around the outside of the house. We have had recent storms and twice the room has flooded in the front and back of the house. After the area was dug up, it was discovered he never put footings on the outside of the room so the water is coming inside the house from under the foundation. I am currently paying a licensed contractor $2,500 to add the fittings. Calls are never returned to me. IDesired Settlement[redacted] should keep good faith an repay the cost I incurred in 2006 and current costs which total $4,800.

Revdex.com of Central Massachusetts6 Park Ave, Suite 100 Worcester, MA 01605[redacted]May 27, 2013 Dear Sirs,I am having problems with Spectrum Home Improvement (formerly [redacted] Construction) owned by [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], regarding the construction of 2 additional rooms, a bathroom/laundry room and a closed-in porch, onto my existing house. I am on retirement disability from Connecticut, following a back injury in 1988 and my doctors have suggested that I get a spa tub, that I can soak in, and that I bring my washer and dryer upstairs so that I don't have to go up and down my basement stairs all the time. I am using money from my disability check to pay for the construction. It is now well past the completion date on the contract for both rooms and there is still a lot of work to be done. I gave him the first payment on June 16, 2012 and since that time he or his crew of one, maybe two people has come to work on the house on average, 2-3 days per week for 2-3 hours at a time, so the project has dragged on far too long. I gather from him that he underestimated the cost of construction and says he has run out on money, and so now he is working even less. He is disorganized, messy and inefficient, so I have real concerns about the quality of his work. He has failed to follow through on so many of our agreements and has given so many different excuses for why the project is taking so long, that I can no longer trust anything that he says. I have repeatedly asked him to deliver my bathroom items and other things that I have already paid for and despite repeated promises to do so, he has yet to follow through. He has now finally admitted that he is holding the things as collateral, which doesn't seem right to me. 1 am also trying to figure out why I still don't have screens on my windows, which were put in months ago.I am not sure this problem can be resolved, but here are some ideas to start with. So far I have given him $66,500.00 and I need to have my last payment for $7000, made on 12/18/12, returned. I gave him the money while I was recovering from back surgery and was under heavy pain medication and not thinking clearly. The $7000 was not scheduled for that time, but was due upon completion of the porch. He convinced me that he needed it though to keep the construction going. There is still so much to finish, that I need that $7000 to help pay for someone reliable to finish the project. I also need to have the following items, which I have already paid for delivered to my house;1. Two sink vanity2. Heater/Air conditioner3. Window screens (17)4. Door handle for bathroom exterior door5. ChandelierAlso early in construction he dug a hole for the bathroom foundation and left it open for weeks. During that time it filled with water and during a heavy rainfall, my basement flooded and a $200 Berber rug got wet. So that he wouldn't have to put a claim into his insurance company, he begged me to let him clean the rug and the basement. So far he has not returned the rug and he still has not cleaned the basement. I also gave him copies of my house keys so he would have access to wiring and plumbing. I have asked him repeatedly to return those keys with no effect. I would like to have both the rug and my house keys returned. This whole situation has caused me great stress and I continue to have tremendous pain in my back, that soaking in my spa tub could help alleviate, but I can't. After nearly a year I am still looking at a partially finished bathroom and it makes me really sad and sickens me. Anything you can do to resolve this situation will be greatly appreciated.Sincerely,[redacted]

Incomplete services. In correct installation. Delay of completion. Hired to have my kitchen remodeled. Owner [redacted] did not put in my counter tops on correctly, never sealed them. There was shape edges on counter where he had form edges for scape pieces. When toldabout the he used a grinder on them, did not seal them, now water has gotten under the top and warpedcounter. Was suppose to order a special counter top for the island. He told us it would look best if we usedPage 2 of 3a maple trim around it instead of a special order. We stated no we wanted it to match other counters. Henever order counter instead he made one like he suggested and said company sent wrong one. He would askfor money to pay his employee every week and then not show up for days. He put in a over the counter topsink, but in he put it under the counter. He ran electric and plumbing without a license. He never sealed theback splash, did not put in the color grout we asked for either on floor or backs splash. He never pulled apermit to work on our kitchen.Kitchen was never finished. When I tried to call him he would not answer his cell phone. He has moved from [redacted] and I do not know where he is. He still does not answer his cell phone. We now need to hire another contractor to redo most of the work.Desired SettlementI am asking to have the money paid back to us for work not done properly. He received both cash and checks and did not give us a receipt when asked for when we gave him cash. Kept telling us he would get it to us he did not have his receipt book with him.
