Hello,I became aware of an issue in our service department when I heard a customer being very loud in our service area When I went over I spoke to the customer and found out what his concerns were He told me he had returned to the dealership because we had performed an alignment on the car and it was pulling When he went on a test drive with the service manager, the bottom of the bumper scraped pulling out onto the road He also told me that our technician had revved his car while it was parked The car has an aftermarket exhaust so it is loader than stock Several times during the conversation I had to tell the young man to quiet down or he would have to leave. When I went to find out what happened I found the car parked in the middle of the parking lot The technician said the customer was yelling at him so he just stopped the car and left it The technician who was working on the car has been at the dealership for years and we have never had a complaint about his behavior I asked him to pull it in and redo the alignment which he did I brought the customer back to the alignment machine and showed him the car was aligned to Volkswagen specifications The customer later told me we should align it outside of Volkswagen specs which I said we would not do He called another Volkswagen dealer in CT and they said they would because the car is out of warranty We will not While it was up in the air, I also had the customer show me what he thought we did to the car. While there are several marks under the front bumper the customer was adamant the one mark made was the driver's side front I did not agree or disagree with the customer I was just trying to solve his complaints I then had him follow me to the local Volkswagen Certified body shop to address the mark on the bottom of the bumper the customer wanted touched up When we got to the body shop and the manager looked at the mark which is not visible unless you get under the car and is about the size of a dime The manager asked the customer if he knew that the car had some history It was a polite way of saying the front bumper has countless fish eyes, over spray on the trim and doesn't match the color of the car Additionally the passenger fender was once red and both front wheel wells have damage from when the car had been previously lowered and the tires had hit The customer told the manager he wanted it touched up and they agreed on a time the next day to have the work performed. We are sorry the customer is not satisfied with Speedcraft and we tried to address all of his concerns His request for a new bumper and the refund of the alignment are two things we are not willing to do as we don't feel it is a realistic request We have attached four photos we took of the car while it was having the alignment performed the second time to show the condition of the front bumper and front of the car We have additional photos if needed or requested.Thank you, [redacted] ***General ManagerSpeedcraft Volkswagen

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted]. Please add your rejection comments below. The existing damage on my car has nothing to do with this claim. I also never gave them permission to take any photos of my vehicle while it was at the dealership. I am utterly insulted that they would use the condition of my vehicle as a reason to justify their own wrongdoing. The scrape is much larger than the size of a dime and is yellow in color now. The car also has never been lowered and has [redacted] suspension. [redacted] has given a very biased version of what actually happened and I have 3 points I would like to address.1. My car was damaged by their employee [redacted].2. I was swore at by their employee and treated with absolute disrespect.3. The damage is still visible and requires body work.

Hello,I became aware of an issue in our service department when I heard a customer being very loud in our service area.  When I went over I spoke to the customer and found out what his concerns were.  He told me he had returned to the dealership because we had performed an alignment on the...

car and it was pulling.  When he went on a test drive with the service manager, the bottom of the bumper scraped pulling out onto the road.  He also told me that our technician had revved his car while it was parked.  The car has an aftermarket exhaust so it is loader than stock.  Several times during the conversation I had to tell the young man to quiet down or he would have to leave. When I went to find out what happened I found the car parked in the middle of the parking lot.  The technician said the customer was yelling at him so he just stopped the car and left it.  The technician who was working on the car has been at the dealership for 10 years and we have never had a complaint about his behavior.  I asked him to pull it in and redo the alignment which he did.  I brought the customer back to the alignment machine and showed him the car was aligned to Volkswagen specifications.  The customer later told me we should align it outside of Volkswagen specs which I said we would not do.  He called another Volkswagen dealer in CT and they said they would because the car is out of warranty.  We will not.  While it was up in the air, I also had the customer show me what he thought we did to the car. While there are several marks under the front bumper the customer was adamant the one mark made was the driver's side front.  I did not agree or disagree with the customer.  I was just trying to solve his complaints.  I then had him follow me to the local Volkswagen Certified body shop to address the mark on the bottom of the bumper the customer wanted touched up.  When we got to the body shop and the manager looked at the mark which is not visible unless you get under the car and is about the size of a dime.  The manager asked the customer if he knew that the car had some history.  It was a polite way of saying the front bumper has countless fish eyes, over spray on the trim and doesn't match the color of the car.  Additionally the passenger fender was once red and both front wheel wells have damage from when the car had been previously lowered and the tires had hit.  The customer told the manager he wanted it touched up and they agreed on a time the next day to have the work performed. We are sorry the customer is not satisfied with Speedcraft and we tried to address all of his concerns.  His request for a new bumper and the refund of the alignment are two things we are not willing to do as we don't feel it is a realistic request.  We have attached four photos we took of the car while it was having the alignment performed the second time to show the condition of the front bumper and front of the car.  We have additional photos if needed or requested.Thank you,[redacted]General ManagerSpeedcraft Volkswagen
