When the car in question left our service bays the AC was working, blowing cold air We can't help but wonder why, if when the customer got in the car to leave and the AC was blowing hot air, he didn't return immediately and let us know there was a problem We would have gladly addressed the situation at that time At this point there is no way for us to know what happened exactly within the time (over two months) between the car leaving here and the complaint For that reason we cannot offer a refund at this time.Thank You, Speedlab Inc

Hello,Regarding complaint [redacted] , we are only recently aware of any displeasure from our customer. The customer brought his car to us complaining of non-working air conditioner. We informed the customer of our diagnostic fee--minimum 1 hour labor at $99.95/hour--prior to receiving... his car in the shop. Upon investigation, the A/C system was empty of all refrigerant. Our initial finding was that the system had a leak resulting in loss of all refrigerant.Our method of finding the leak is to re-pressurize the system with refrigerant and add dye to the system, in order to find the exact location of the leak. As the compressor won't activate without refrigerant in the system, and a leak is undetectable without dye, this method is an accepted diagnostic tool in the industry. This service was explained to the customer and performed.Our total charges were the one hour of diagnostic and the air conditioner service with dye. These were explained to the customer and performed on the car, resulting in a functioning air conditioner and, as we explained to the customer, a probable leak that could be detected in the future as a result of adding dye to the system.The customer picked up his car, paid, and left our parking lot with a functioning air conditioner as far as we were aware. At no time did the customer express dissatisfaction with the repair until 3 months after the repair, when the customer's mother called to complain. The customer is in Missouri now, and we are unable to revisit his particular problem with the car.As it stands, the customer was charged for one hour of diagnostic and an air conditioning service with dye. Both services were performed and the customer was informed that it was not a repair, but an extended form of diagnostic. At no time did we claim to have permanently fixed his A/C problem, nor did we refuse to further address the problem. However, we did inform the customer that the repair, as a result of a full diagnostic, would be forthcoming, with additional charges in accordance with whatever would be discovered at a later date.We're sorry Mr [redacted] felt taken advantage of, but we stand behind our work and our rates.Thank you in advance,Brody H***Speedlab, Inc. 1900 Eubank Blvd NE Ste CAlbuquerque NM 87112
