. They came to replace a heating element on my *** dryer and charged me just under $700.00 to do so. I called *** after and they told me that service should have costed me no more than $300 with parts and labour and that I could have purchased a brand new dryer exactly like the one I have but a newer model for $700.00 that would come with a manufacturers warranty. Brutal!!! I then called Speedy to tell them this and ask for a partial credit and they refused. This company takes advantage of customers who are desperate to get their appliances to work again.

They do not back warranty for 3 mths labour. Repaired dishwasher part of door and than didnt balance the door so now my dishwasher opens during a cycle and hard to close. The door latch was not a problem before the repair. I called to ask them to come back and they refuse. Also wont even send me an invoice but take money out of the account.

Speedy Appliance Repair service guy *** could not repair my dryer, left it in three parts - I have pictures - and subsequently I was charged without an invoice on my credit card $ 323.00, I complained to *** credit card department and during a phone call with *** fraud department their boss *** promised to charge me with a service call and refund $ 187.40 onto my credit card. This was never refunded, no invoice ever received, I sent several emails with pictures showing the damage but no answer ever received.

Desired Outcome

I agreed to pay for one service call, but want to have $ 187.40 refunded as promised, which was promised October 30, 2019 by their boss ***, phone number XXXXXXXXXX, phone number for repair man *** XXX XXXXXXX.

on oct 4th 2018 speedy appliance came to my house to fix gas oven.
after an inspection it was reported to me that it needed a Igniter, original factory part was 284.77 and 280.00 labour.I gave the go ahead and the work was done.It worked until march 08 2019,aprox 5 mouths. After speaking with the company march 09 2019 I was told that there was no warranty and he would only come and fix it if I pay him 450.00.After further inspection it was discovered the igniter had not been replaced and the work I payed for was not legitimate,I have pictures of the part that are clearly old and burned.I have a invoice #*** for a total of 638.19.

Desired Outcome

with the work claimed to be done and the *** of the part replacement, and finally the claim that there is no warranty,I feel that they need to be accountable for there business practises and refund my money.

May 14 of this year we called this company to fix our convection wall oven, the fan wasn't working. The technician(***)told us that the main board was gone and repair would cost us $782.The part was coming from Germany, but our luck they had one in stock, but we had to give half the cost upfront for repair to take place right away.We gave $392.50 in cash and they confirmed the receipt with an email.Next day I got a phone call from the ***,I assumed was the owner of the company he said we have to pay $150 extra for cost of shipping.I argued with him that wasn't stated at the beginning and we want our money back.He said he will figure out how much money he will return to us after deducting the shipping cost and call me back. Two days later when there was

Desired Outcome

no call from ***,I knew we were not dealing with honorable people and We were not getting our money back.So I called *** back and said we would go ahead with the deal if he could do it right away.Technician came on the 28th,replaced the part.It looked like the fan was working, because when you open the oven door it stops automatically. So we gave him the rest of the money in cash to complete the total amount to $950.He signed on a piece of paper acknowledging the receipt of money and as well they confirmed it by email along with three month guarantee on the part. Two days later when I turned the oven on the fan was not working.I called *** on May the 30th that the oven was not working. He said he will order a new control board from Germany and it will take a week to arrive to Canada.I called him on June 7th

Speedy Appliance Repair Response • Sep 25, 2018

We did indeed take a look at the oven, and advised we needed another control board, our last conversation with the client, we advised to please wait, and she refused and wanted to cancel. She said she will take further actions and this is all we have from the client, we can possibly issue back a portion of the funds, but we have very expensive parts installed, labor and time already, please call us for a resolution.

Customer Response • Sep 26, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Contrary to Speedy appliances'claims that We refused service and wanted to cancel,We gave them every chance in good faith to come and fix our oven after the first replacement part failed. At the end of May 2018 which the waiting game started I was told that the part was ordered and it would take a week. One week later I was told that it would be here in three weeks. When I called three weeks later,I was told it would take five more weeks,it would be in on the 8th of August. At that point I sent them an email stating that if the part wasn't in by that date,We would ask our money back in full. After all three months is long enough to wait for a part.
If this part was ordered as they claim It should have been in by now.If they can fix our oven to our satisfaction without any additional expense within a week,We are still willing to give them a chance to rectify the situation, but we want a definite timeline and a guarantee.Otherwise our money should be returned to us in full. Our agreement with them to fix our oven for $ 950.If the part they replaced didn't do the job,the cost of the part is not relevant to us.Failed part shouldn't be consumers' expense. As long as we get our money back they can take the part back anytime.
The bottom line is that after four months the oven still does not work!

Has a sub zero fridge repaired and it was a great experience, they were on time and repair was done quick. Would greatly recommend this company!

Today, August 03, 2018, a company representative did some repair work on a *** washing machine for me, which took him a bit less than 10 minutes to installed a lid switch, which I later found out cost approximately $60.00 (online from ***.ca). I was charged $280 for the job including labor which he indicated would not include taxes if I paid cash. You can see why I am complaining, as people need to know what these guys a doing to consumers out there.

I fully understand that I was ***. However, Speedy Appliance Service refused to provide a receipt to validate that they did the job and should hold them to some contractual obligation. I suspect that it is because they are trying to avoid paying taxes on the money they received from me.

I would like to receive a receipt for the work done, which should also provide some sort of warranty.

Thanks,
***

Desired Outcome

Explanation of Charges I would like a receipt issued to me, which explain the charges and the warranty and an adjustment to the charge and refund reflective of a fair honest price. I know that that's asking a lot from any company doing business today. Thanks

Speedy Appliance Repair Response • Sep 24, 2018

We did indeed have a technician sent out to look at this customers appliance, we explained it needed a switch and quoted a fair price, customer asked to pay cash. The part costs us $79.82, we have our mark up of 10%, and the rest is the labor. This was a really fair price and the job was completed at a very fair and reasonable cost.
