Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
After the roof was completed on 1/6/we notice our roof was turning green approximately months after it was installed and we were told by Beau that this would not happen for at least yearsWe called Beau to let him know the roof was turning green and we need to get this corrected and that we were having a family reunion in August and we want it to look niceAnd Beau did not come by to look at it until July and he told us that this should not have happened and it was a factory defect and he would contact the company, Our family reunion we were very embarrassed with our green roofWe kept calling Beau because our roof was getting greener everydayAll we wanted was to have our roof cleaned and Beau kept promising us that he would take care of it and that it was a defect in the roofing and we should be getting a complete mew roof due to the defect in the shinglesWe kept waiting for a response from Beau and kept calling, this went on for yearsI contacted Owens about our claim, they told us that a claim for our roof had not been filedSo Vicky (Owens product rep) sent us out a warranty claim packetIn this packet you have to send full size shingles from the roofSo we contacted Beau and told him we had the packet, but I did not want to remove any roofing myself so he said he would come out and do itHe came out in early November and re moved shingles from the front of our roof and replaced them and we sent them inNovember our claim denied , we asked them to have the shingles rechecked and they did and denied the claim again on December 11th B Sincerely,*** ***

I am writing to you in response to the complaint from [redacted].
After reading through her information there is a lot that is incorrect. [redacted] was a customer of ours back in December 2010. After we completed the roof we did not hear from them until about two years later at which point we...

started a claim for them with the manufacture of the product. [redacted] is trying to say that we did nothing but that is incorrect. with this email you will have copies of emails sent to them and corresponding with the manufacturer to help them open a claim. Claims are normally opened by homeowners but we wanted to try and help the process. After that we did not hear from them for another 2 years in 2015. The customer informed us that they had a leak in our bathroom at which point we came out to investigate the situation and found that there was a defect in the shingles on that area of the roof. We performed a temporary repair to stop the leak while we open a claim about the defect. To my surprise the manufacturer denied the claim again which I could not understand and we were very disappointed. I told the customer that I would contact the manufacturer rep for Washington state and try to go around the warranty department and get the materials from him to replace the section that was affected. After a little while of communicating back and forth with the rep I told the customer that if we could not get the manufacturer to supply the material, Speedy Roofing would Supply it our self at no cost. Speedy Roofing did end up replacing the area that was affected in order to make things right at our own expense.
We cannot understand why this customer is so upset with us as all we have done is try to help them with the situation. Along with this email will be the documentation emails showing our efforts to help them along with the warranty process.
