Speedzone Accessories Reviews (1)

I feel like I paid for repairs that weren't needed and then when it got to the end, they attempted to sell me a car. Back in May of 2015, I took my car into Speedzone to have the air conditioner checked. They told me I needed a simple recharge and Freon and everything else was working fine. So I paid them $110 for that service. They also informed me that I needed a water-pump, because the temperature was going to the mid-way mark on the indicator. I brought it back in a couple of days later to have the repair done. They told me that once the water-pump was repaired, it should go down to a lower level, because they performed a pressure test and that was the issue that they saw. I paid $180 and had the job done. A week goes by, the car starts going to a higher temperature than it was before (a little past the mid-way mark) they did the repair and at this time, they tell me I need a radiator and the job would be $300. They complete that job after two to three days and I come to pick up the car only to find that my AC is no longer working. So I turn around and take it right back to them. I informed the owner that they fixed the radiator and now the AC isn't working. He said that ok we'll check it. I said "there shouldn't be any charge, because last month, you all said that the AC only needed a re-charge so it has to be something that you all have done". He informed me that there wouldn't be any charge. I leave the car Saturday thru Monday. I then come back in to pick up the vehicle and he tells me that the repairs are $100. I immediately walk out to collect my thoughts and wait a little while and go back into the business. I told the owner, so you told me prior to the repairs that there was no charge and then he said, "well it turned out to be a bigger job than we thought". And then I said so you're telling me it's a coincidence that you all fixed the radiator and the AC stopped working. His response was, "well that's all I can say, that it's a coincidence...things do happen that way". Then he said just give me $60 and we'll call it even. I went outside again and called my mother and told her that they were attempting to charge me $60 for the repairs. My mom told me to leave the car there and that she would come up there to get an explanation of why and pay the bill. I went back in and told the owner that I would be sending my mother there later on to speak with him and pay. His response was, "Just get the key and go and if it starts running hot again, we'll take it from there". In a matter of 15 minutes, it went from $100 to $60 to just take the key and go. So I took the car home, it did great for about a week and then it started running hot again, this time going even more closer to the HOT symbol on the dashboard, right below it so I take it back to them. They tell me; oh we didn't give you a new radiator cap when you got the radiator, so all your fluids leaked out. They charged me $7 for the radiator cap and then they topped off the fluids that had come out. Time went by and then it started running hot again. I take the car to them and they tell me that I now need an intake manifold gasket, the parts are $80 and they charge $220 for labor. I inform that I don't want them to do anymore repairs and I would be back to pick the car up and an itemized copy of my receipts dating back to the AC recharge. The person working at the front desk, then asked me, "So what's the situation here...are you fixin' to take us to court?" I politely declined to answer and asked could I have a copy of my receipts. She said she wouldn't be able to give them to me, until later that afternoon, because she was really busy. About 30 minutes after that conversation, my boyfriend and I arrive to pick up the car. She then pulls my boyfriend outside away from everyone else and tells him, she hates to see me continuously wasting money on that old car and she talked to her son about me. She then informed him that her son owns a used car dealership down the street and he had a few options just for me and told us to come down to [redacted]. Desired SettlementA adequate diagnostic and I feel like they should be held accountable, because this has been a 3 month process and over the time, my car has just been getting worst. I'm thinking that they were solving the problem and in actuality, I was driving around and the situation was continuously getting worse.
