*** *** has completed several jobs for us, on our mid 1800's house - including foundation work, replacement of rotting sills, rebuild of concrete landing & sidewalk, new door installation, and parging of entire basement walls with a brush finish *** is conscientious, honest, effficient and fair His workmanship is outstanding It is rare these days to find a contractor who starts and finishes a job as quoted and as scheduled We highly recommend *** and will be contracting with him for future work

I [redacted] Jr was hired by [redacted] to do a countertop with tile back splash and install bead board in bathroom as well. I could tell from day one that [redacted]'s husband [redacted] wanted nothing to do with my employee and I being there. On my last day, I received a call from [redacted] on my way...
home. He was demanding to know how much it was going to cost because his wife had left him out of it. A total amount due was given to him over the phone and a written bill was delivered to him (by me) the following day. Due to [redacted] rushing the matter, I hadn't even had a chance to return the unused tile from the job. [redacted] brought that to my attention, I apologized and deducted from bill. I met with [redacted] and [redacted] they wrote me a check. The next day [redacted]'s calling me again, he's mad saying I overcharged for the countertop and hours of labor and also said the sink wasn't silicone. Told me he was going to cancel the check. I tried explaining to him the cost of countertop included me taking the time to order it as well as the use of my vehicle to go pick up and deliver countertop myself (time & fuel aren't cheap). [redacted] was not interested in hearing my explanation. I met with him again re-siliconed the sink for him. I then told him I'd give him everything at cost and not charge for my time spent on countertop. I had not yet mentioned a new total amount due. [redacted] told me if I take $2,400.00 I wouldn't hear from him again. I regretfully accepted. The next day [redacted] is calling me AGAIN! This time saying, he overpaid me and wanted $400.00 back. He told me the countertop was warped, that I probably wouldn't fix it so he'd learn to live with it IF I brought $400.00 back to him. So because of [redacted] being unreasonable I figured I'd try to satisfy him and returned $400.00 cash to him. End result [redacted] paid me $2,000.00 for a $3,382.38 job. I feel that I have been more than fair on this matter.
