Spencer Heating & Air Conditioning Reviews (2)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Yes I agreed for the service call that would cost me $and
expected value for the dollar spentThe tech did not diagnose the problem on
the first day (as opposed to ‘*** *** tech diagnosed the problem instantly)
The tech told my husband that he needs a tool to check the unit and said he
will come the next day. Here again I
would like to stress that he should have been well equipped for a service call
I cannot pay for another day of work just because he didn’t have the necessary
toolsThe tech servicing another emergency customer and having to take out
rarely used tools off the truck is
irrelevant to meIf the tech was on another call and not fully equipped, then Spencer Company
should have sent a tech who was fully equipped
Yes, my husband agreed for the tech to come the next day as
we had no choiceBecause we were faced with a situation with no resolution
after the service call of $ The tech
came the next day checked the unit and told us that the panel needs to be
replaced at a cost of around $1,with
labour He also recommended that we
should replace the entire unit at $instead of spending $on the panel
boardAt this point I would like to stress that my husband did not ask about a
new furnace (who will want a new unit when all you need is a fix)This
recommendation was his final resolution THE TECH DID NOT FIX THE UNIT NOR THE UNIT WAS
UP AND RUNNING AS SPENCER COMPANY HAS MENTIONEDThe tech gave us a bill for
$Nowhere is mentioned on the bill that the unit was fixed It would have been justifiable to spent $
if the unit was fixed, but we were left with no fix and a quote for $if
not $4,400.
According to Spencer Company the tech charged $for
service call plus $for one hour labor plus tax for both daysBut what
was the final outcome? What did it achieve? Did it fix the unit? How is Spencer
Company justifying this charge on us?
Spencer Company in their response has mentioned that we
never called them to say that the unit was not workingThey never fixed the
unit in the first placeWhat’s the point of calling them? Then I would have ended up with another
service call, a second visit to bring a tool and a no fix
We had to call ‘Clear
All’ which instantly found the problem which was a mere plugged drainWhy
couldn’t Spencer Company detect this after spending two days? You could check
with All clear Company to confirm the condition of the unit prior to they fixing
the unitI will email the bills from both the companies for your review
More than the financial loss I incurred, I’m more concerned
about bringing unfair consumer treatments like this to light so that ordinary
people can be protectedPlease publish my complain so that public can make
informed decisions
Also I stand affirm in recouping the vain money spent
Regards,
*** ***

To whom it may concern,[redacted] called our company [Spencer Heating & Air] on 12!01/2015 and said thetempreture in her house would not go above 67*. Our office. asked her if the batteries in the thermostatwere ok she thought they were. Our office informed [redacted] of our service call of...

S65.00 plus tax forthe technician to come out plus parts & labor. [redacted] said that was fine. Our tech inspected the furnaceat [redacted] and found it would not go into high fire. Our tech is afactory trained technician. The technician called his boss to be sure of his diagnoses and told customer'shusband he thought it was a bad control board. Our tech wanted to be sure so he asked the customer if hecould he return the next day with a ecm test modular, he did not have one on his truck as it is not usedvely often at all. He has only used it once this year and that was for this call. He had been on a emergencyinstall with someone who had no heat at all and had taken some of his tools & stuff off his truck that isn'tused much. They said yes but we would have to come back around 4:00 the next day. We returned thenext day and determined it was the board and gave customer a quote for a new board of $660.00 pluslabor. Her husband asked our tech the cost of a new furnace and he told him an approximate cost of$4,400. They said they wanted to think about it either way & would let us know. The tech charged themthe $85.00 for service call plus $70.00 for one hour labor plus tax for both days he was there. He spentwell over an hour there. A total of $ 167.40 was charged. Our tech had left them with the heat up andrunning. They never called us back to say it wasn't working again. We would have gone back out and notcharged a service call again. Also why did they wait to have another company come in 20 days later?Sincerely,Dawn @ Spencer Heating & Air Inc.
