We need to end the contract based on the grounds that they had changed the price of our townhouse without our authorization.On August 11, 2014, my wife and I noticed there was a change of price in the listing of our townhome. We were notified via an app that we use to track the sale of our townhome. The price had been reduced by $100 to a total of [redacted] On August 12, 2014, we reached out to our listing agent, [redacted] to see why there was such change without our permission. She responded via email (attached to this complaint) stating that it was done to trigger our listing to be on the top of search MLS engines. She admitted that "she should have double checked with us," before making the change. She also stated that she "thought we knew," about this strategy, while finally saying "must have been a miscommunication in our end."Back in June, 2014, we had met with [redacted], our realtor, and her team to discuss an earlier incident of harassment from one of her teammates, as we were pushed to take on an offer we received in May 2014. We discussed with [redacted] on how we felt about such awful experience and they beseeched us to keep the listing and offered to do better. When this new incident occurred, and we heard from [redacted] as to why there was such change in price, we felt that this had gone too far and we needed to end the contract based on the grounds that they had changed the price of our townhouse without our authorization. Since we did not approve of the change and were not even notified of it, we stated to them that we did not owed them any exit fee. On August 13, [redacted] replied to our request asking first that [redacted] change the price quickly back to the original listing price (not sure if they did this to cover up their mistake), plus they declined to end the contract without us having to pay for exit fee. [redacted] also offered to pay for the difference of the change of price (not sure if this is considered bribing us), plus she suggested that we could just take the listing temporarily out of the market. [redacted] also stated on her last email that she was not threatened by us filing a complaint against her. One, we would like to request for the email exchange PDF file to be removed, as it contains both my wife's and I email accounts and we find those to be personal information.Two, the business fails to add other important emails where they explained why they made the change in price and how they were trying to cover up their mistake quickly. My understanding is only our reply will be posted on your web site. We do not want any of our email addresses publicized. The only reason I did not attach the other email exchange is because it was already submitted in the original complaint. As the seller wrote previously, the reason we reduced the price by $100 was to trigger their listing to move to the top of MLS search engines and increase their exposure. We have admitted here and in our initial correspondence with the sellers that we made a mistake by making the change without getting their permission. We corrected the mistake as soon as we were aware that it had happened. There was not a cover up of any kind.
