Regards,

[redacted]I received your email from the Revdex.com containing a letter from Spence's Pest Control. Iwould like to state that the company's reply does not at this time meet my satisfaction.Mr. [redacted] knows I am trying to get estimates to his specifications. I had a contractorcome by my house on 4-2-15, and 4-4-15. I have thus far not received written estimatesfrom either of these gentlemen. Fortunately for them, they seem to be busy with otherwork. Unfortunately for me, I am now going on week #7 with my house in disarray, andno water use from my kitchen sink or dishwasher. I have two more contractors coming byto inspect damages to my home on 4-9-15 and 4-10-15. As soon as I get the informationregarding estimates and find out what Mr. [redacted] intends to pay towards the damage tomy home from the negligence of his technician, I will then be able to state whether theamount offered would resolve my complaint. One thing I did fail to mention was that the only estimate I have received from onecontractor, which I showed to Mr. [redacted], and which was rejected by him as being toomuch and done at an hourly rate stated that if he was hired to do the work, he wanted thearea treated for removal of the spores, mold, fungi, etc ... In Mr. [redacted] letter he states,"we can give a number of reasons that our inspector did not discover this problem." Hefailed to mention that I was not only ever notified of the extensive wood rot, but was alsonot informed that I had spores and mold. This is definitely something his technicianshould have told me. I don't know what his excuse is for this oversight. If you need any additional information from me to keep the complaint from being closedat this time, please contact me. I will contact you when and if any monetarycompensation is offered for my damages incurred at the neglect of Spence's Pest Control.Thank you for your time and help in following up on my complaint.

[redacted]This is a very unfortunate situation and I certainly understand Ms. [redacted]' concerns ofour not discovering the leak occurring from the drain and the damage that has occurred.During the past 36 years our...

inspections have discovered a number of water pipes, drainsand vent ducts leaking while performing our inspections. However this wasn't the caseduring this inspection. While our insurance carrier [redacted]. has denied this claim, and we cangive a number of reasons that our inspector did not discover this, we have agreed to pay aportion of the replacement of the sill plate (3'-4'), band board and floor joists (2-3) if at areasonable cost. This will be all the financial responsibility or liability that we will agreeto occur. Our client Ms. [redacted] is obtaining estimates (not based on hourly rates). Once thishas be obtained and she can provide us with a dollar figure we hope this will resolve thissituation.

Review: During the later part of February 2015, I was notified by a plumber who went into my crawl space to check a pipe, that I had extensive wood rot from what appeared to be a leaking pipe. He said the foundation of my house including a rotted sill, bandboard, floor joists, etc...had been damaged. He said the damage had been going on, in his opinion, for years. There was also the presence of mold. I contacted Spence's Pest Control on 2/24/15 to let them know of these findings, and that I wondered why this had not been reported to me. Chip, the son of the [redacted] of Spence's came by my home while I was at work on 2/25/2015 to check out the reason for my complaint by entering my crawl space and taking photographs. On 2/27/2015, I called Spence's office and requested the [redacted] come by my house to talk with me. He said because this damage was not caused by termites, that his company was not liable. I asked that he contact his liability insurance, which he did. It took the insurance company, [redacted], two weeks to get back to me by phone to let me know they felt there was no liability responsibility for Spence's. I have receipts dating back to 2000, where the technician for Spence's goes into my crawl space to check for termites. The receipt I am given states that the foundation, piers, floor joists, main bean, sill plates, bandboard plates, moisture barrier and vents are all operational and OK. How can it be okay if the foundation and supporting structures are collapsing? [redacted] agent, [redacted], said the technicians are only certified to check for termite damage and nothing else. Termites love moist, decaying wood which I have plenty of under my home. How could the technicians who have checked for damage the past 16 years not notified me of the other obvious issues? How can you check off that all of these supporting structures are ok if they are actually collapsing? Termite or water damage, things are not ok.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is that Spence's Pest Control help with the financial expenses that I now incur. I have to have rotted wood removed, replaced, and repaired, which enters into thousands of dollars. My foundation actually has to be jacked up approximately 2 inches in order for the repairs to take place.
