I had same bad experience as many others Extremely overpriced, no written estimate and trying to sell you services you don't needWas quoted $for labor for less than minutes of labor to replace a shower head ( I already had the new shower head) and $for labor to replace a kitchen fawcett Companies like this should be forced out of business due to lack of customers The fact that they stay in business means that they are successfully preying on plenty of peopleLikely single women, the elderly, etc Please do your part and do not call this company and also spread the word to keep others from being taken advantage of Thanks

Regarding the unit that the customer is talking about. That was discussed when our Solution Specialist was out at the home discussing the options, but it was agreed upon that because of the size of the room that it wouldn't be done. The customer was given options before we did any work
and the customer signed the contract and agreement which states clearly what is being installed before we proceeded on doing any of the work. We have a signed copy of the contract/agreement that is signed and dated by the customer. Thank you*** ***The Spengler Company

being a lead and cast iron drain pipe that by putting our cable machine down the drain, that it could possibly do additional damage to the pipes so because of that we pulled a toilet to place camera down the pipeThe findings led us to the solution of a whole house repipeThe second look they had done advised them away from a repipe and we found out they did not use a camera to take a look at the condition of the drainage pipesThere was miscommunication as to if we could or could not unclog the pipe and that is where *** felt everything went wrongBecause of the miscommunication between *** and *** they pulled the toilet and when he got the second opinion the plumber put the toilet back on and never used the camera to look inside the pipesSince there was miscommunication we never ended up doing the job or putting the toilet back on and therefore we only charged them the diag/trip charge of

*** ***'s mother called us to come out to her son's home on 2/2/2017, which we did end up going to his home on 2/3/2017. Nothing was stated about a thermostat, the call was that the heat was not kicking on. It is true that our new after hours dispatcher quoted them the wrong
price, so we are honoring the price that was quoted to them. That has been addressed and told to Mr*** many times already.Two HVAC solution specialist went to his home on the initial call and diagnosed the inducer motor was having issues. They gave him options to fix it. He has an older system to which newer systems we call it an inducer motor. Mr*** called back in after we left and made the statement that he took his whole system apart and that he did see that something was not working but did not know if he did something or if we did something. He also stated that after he took his whole system apart that he took a part to a friend of his who knows about hvac. In future conversation, Mr*** stated that he did not take the system apart. We cannot warranty something when someone takes their system apart. I tried to inform Mr*** of that and All of our calls are recorded so I listened to each and every call. Mr*** stated that nobody has called him back. I spoke with Mr*** on 2/10/to which he became extremely upset and said he could not guarantee the valve stems on our employees trucks as he makes valve stems and he could send our company a falsified order. He also stated that he would come to our business every morning and every night and follow us around. When he became too hostile, I ended the conversation. I did inform him that we would be sending him his full amount back. If you have any questions, please let me know

.11/15/2017 3:37 pm After they tried to sell me a new until when the circut breaker went again. I had another firm come out.They said the cir cut breaker was bad and wires were loose.  They did this for free.  I am willing to pay for time but don't want to pay for parts. After they replace the capacitor it had the same reading as before it was replaced. The tech who did the cleaning said it wasn't dirty.  that's why I would like a refund of $857.51($288.93 capacitor $568.58 coil cleaning.)  Any questions call me.12/13/2017 2:P47 pm I dont have any documentation since I had a spare circut breaker here and he put it in for free. Once I received the quote from Spengler for the replacement unit I contacted several other HVAC installation companies to get competitive bids. The first company to come to my house was [redacted]. The technician that came to my home, inspected the unit and once I explained what my problem was he informed me that the circuit breaker could be the problem. I had a spare breaker that was the right size and the technician installed it for me.  I did not have problems after the breaker was installed. The [redacted] technician gave me a quote for a new system and told me to call if I needed anything else. There was no charge for the visit.I later learned that circuit breakers can go bad if they are old and they have been tripped a few times. My HVAC circuit breaker was nearly 20 years old and had tripped several times.  I brought this to the attention of the Spengler technicians and was told that my HVAC problems were not a result of a weak or faulty breaker.Let me know if you need any additional information.01/03/2018: Mediation department emailed consumer requesting copy of receipt/invoice/work order.01/04/2018: I never received an invoice since I was not charged for the work. All that was done was an install of a new circuit breaker that I already had on hand. It fixed the problem. Let me know if there anything else you need. 1/17/2017 3:26 pm I did call them. They said they wont send an email or invoice since nothing was charged and they used my part. I think they want to avoid liability since they did not supply the part.2/7/2018 2:24 pm Mediator left message.2/7/2018 2:51 pm Mediator explained company wont take action without proof other work was done there on circut breaker. He asked if complaint stayed out and Mediator indicated complaints stay on the file but with lack of evidence it would be indeterminate resolution. He t[redacted]ed me and hung up.

Regarding the account of [redacted] and her yard restoration being taken care of.  We have now hired another company to take care of her yard.  They will be coming out this week to take a look at it and they will get it taken care of the first of the new year.  It is a very reputable company and they will get it all taken care of. We apologize for the inconvenience that it has caused her and we will make sure that it is taken care of.

We have looked into the complaint that we received from you regarding [redacted] and the job that we did for them in 1999.  We wish that he would have been called out to take a look at the video the customer received from another company so we could have taken care of the issue at that...

time.  With the job taking place over 17 years ago, we have come to the conclusion that we will send a refund to Mr. [redacted] in the amount of the original job for $1935.00.We are sorry for any inconvenience that we have caused the customer.Thank you.

My husband called and spoke with the dispatcher. She advised that it was an $89 fee for a Saturday call. He asked for a general price to snake a line and the dispatcher wouldn't tell him, she just said that the guy responding would provide different options. We went ahead and asked them to reapond.

When the tech arrived, he looked at the sink that was clogged and just automatically said it would be $400 to try and clear it. Yes, "try" and clear it. If he did it, and it didn't work, too bad. If he broke the pipe, too bad. Wound up sending him on his way. For $400, we'll take care of it ourselves.

I have no problems paying for someone's expertise, but when you specifically ask for a general quote over the phone, and they won't provide one, we should have just moved on. A company that is out to make money by refusing a general quote, just so they can get an outrageous service call fee, is a company that won't get our business again...and we'll definitely be sharing our experience with friends as well.

In response to the second letter I received from you regarding [redacted], I have enclosed sheets showing that when [redacted] was out he gave him six options to try and repair his system.  As you can see, Mr. [redacted] did not choose the cheapest option from [redacted].  We at Spengler take pride in our work and we do not use poor level quality parts.  We purchase our parts from hvac manufacturing companies to assure that they are the best quality for each and every system.  Mr. [redacted] has an older system and many times it is multiple parts that need to be replaced.  Many times it can be like a domino effect and you replace one part as it is out but it could be an underlying issue with another part of the system that caused the replaced part to go out.  We work with our customers to figure that out.As far as Mr. [redacted] stating that we never intended on fixing his problem, I have enclosed that [redacted] gave him options to repair first and then gave him options to replace.  [redacted] would not have given Mr. [redacted] options to replace the system if he did not want to see them.  As stated before we would have put the money that he already had paid towards any new system and if he needed more parts replaced we would have worked with him on that.Please let me know if I can answer any other questions to help resolve this.T[redacted] you.

Demand a detailed cost estimate. I should have gotten a detailed cost estimate. I had a bathtub drain replaced. A couple of hundred dollars in parts and an hour and a half of labor. The total bill was over $900. My doctor doesn't make that much an hour.
I'm retired and on a fixed income and I just can't afford these guys.
