I was seeking an advice to form a legal structure for an import company in US from Eastern Europe. I contacted Chicago Office and I was told by phone that the consultation price will be deducted from the price to form the company if I decide to go ahead with [redacted] & [redacted] I explained in detail the business model and countries involved in trade before I set up the consultation so I will get a customized advice in one meeting.
What I got was generalities about the company that I could set up in US; no knowledge of the foreign country and the overall business structure could not be advised; there was no preparation to offer that advice by the Chicago Office.
Secondly after I paid I was told that they consider the consultation "independent" and "independent consultations are a separate fee" while "if you form a company then consultation regarding that formation is included in the price of formation"
Our nonprofit organization recently joined Spiegel & Utrera's General Counsel Club and have named the Chicago office of Spiegel & Utrera as our registered agent in Illinois. Very misleading Firm. They filed my company under the wrong status then tried to charge me more money for their mistake. I was never able to speak with an attorney once the mis-filing was discovered. They are extremely incompetent as a firm and have a jusitied F rating with the Revdex.com.
I have setup to companies through Spiegel & Utrera and have found that everything was done properly and expeditiously. I joined the General Counsel Club for a small fee which allowed me to seek out answers to legal business questions. Where the question called for legal work, the costs were reasonable. I am of the opinion that this is a legitimate and helpful online legal service.
