Good Day,
I rented a 2019 RV unit from Spigus Premium RV Rental from February 6, 2020 to February 17, 2020. The cost of the unit was $3,70.00 for the 11 nights. $1,535.00 deposit and $1,535.00 the day before picking up the unit. On February 6th, I called the owned Jae to confirm the unit was ready. I was informed the unit was actually at his home, ***. Upon arrival, I saw the unit parked in his back yard, in the mud. The unit had to be towed out of the yard as it was deep in the mud. After several hours of waiting on the tow truck, I departed with the unit in the afternoon. I drive to *** on the 6th.
I was experiencing headaches and difficulty breathing after my trip. The symptoms got progressively worse as the night went on. By morning, I was having a hard time breathing. The issue was the exhaust fumes coming up from the engine. I had to turn around and drive back to Clifton, VA. Upon arrival, I explained the situation to the owner, Jae. He refused to refund any of my money even though the unit was defective, and returned in 1 day.
Suffering from Asthma my entire life, I know the dangers of being subjected to exhaust fumes. I rented his 2019 unit specifically for that reason. I expected a quality. year old vehicle.

1. Alleged "Fumes" coming up from the engine
When the customer came back, I could not detect any such "fume". I offered to take the RV with you to the nearest RV service dealer (10 mins. away) to see if what the customer said was true and offered to give him the refund if the dealer found such "fume". He did not take me on the offer and drove home. I took it to the RV service dealer in *** and had them check it out and they found no "fume" and nothing else defective related to it.
I gave the customer the the RV service dealer's name and their contact information for him to contact them first hand.
Customer had indicated that he has asthma condition all his life and may be it was aggravated for whatever reason...but the fact is there was no "fume" coming from the engine.
I am willing to take it to another RV service dealer to determine whether the alleged "fume" fron the engine is true. I will refund 100% if the rv service dealer finds such "fume". Also the customer needs to go with me to make sure there will be no more accusations and erase the one star rating he gave on Yelp if the second dealer also does not find such "fume".

2. Back Yard Parking
It is a five acre property with mature trees. It was the first time the RV got stuck because unusual heavy rain. I immediately called tow truck for $150 but the tow truck guy called back to say he was going to be few hours later. I then called another tow truck was immediately available for $350 just to get the customer on the way ASAP.
I bent over backwards to try to reduce any inconvenience. The normal time for pickup was 2 PM anyways and it was not much later than that. The parking ground has since been laid with gravel.

My reputation is being damaged with what I believed to be a false accusation since I had the rv tested by the rv service dealer and found no "fume" from the engine.

Good Day, The fumes were most likely caused by oil dripping on exhaust pipes when it was changed. The RV owner indicated it was done just before I picked it up. By the time I reached North Carolina, I could not breathe. I had to drive with the windows open all the way back.

The customer's comment about the dripped oil during the oil change (the day before the start of the rental) likely have caused fume is pure speculation.

There is simply no basis for making such a claim. Furthermore, looking at the Ford F53 Chasis Engine compartment the oil port and the portion below the oil port for receiving the oil is nowhere near the exhaust or engine cylinder block area where it gets hot.

The RV showed no signs of "fumes" when it was picked up after the oil change and also the customer did not complain of any "fumes" when he picked up the RV.

Even if there were some oil dripped (no reason to believe so)...it would have been burned off way before the customer brought it back.

I am rejecting this response because:

Good Day,
The fumes would eventually
Burn off of the exhaust, but
I had no way of knowing that,
And the diagnosis was speculation.
The fact remains, I could not
Breathe the sir coming out
Of the engine, so I had to
Turn around.
