BUYER BEWARECODELLA DOES NOT HONOR HIS OWN WARRANTYIn the summer of I purchased a full pool solar system from Codella Solar at considerable expense, which carried a year warranty written clearly on the contractOne of the panels began to leak and I called MrCodella, to get it fixedHe asked me when the work was doneI looked up the contract in my files and reported summer of MrCodella replied “you have a year warranty, as it is now the summer of 2018, so the panels are under warranty until summer 2019”We then made an appointment to have the solar panel replacedMrCodella broke his appointment as well as a second one and it took me weeks of pleading to finally get him to come out to do the workOnce at my house he then told me that the panel that was leaking was out of warranty because it had a sticker on the back showing a date the panel was manufactured which was more than yearsThis was a clear bait and switch scam, as there had been no mention of any “sticker with a manufacturing date on the back of the panel” either in the original contract or by MrCodella in the weeks prior to his service visitThe contract claims a year warranty on the panelsMrCodella refused to honor his clear warranty on the contract, nor did he make me aware at any time prior to his service visit concerning some obscure sticker on the back of the panel that no homeowner would ever see anywayIf one buys a new car and on the contract is says year warranty, the buyer rightly assumes the years to be from the date of purchase, not when the car might have rolled off the assembly line, a date a consumer would not know anywaySo, Codella has lost a good customer who had purchased a full system from him all because he chose to nickel and dime and cheat me on a clear year warranty on a single panelThis guy is high maintenanceBUYER BEWARE!
Codella Solar did what they said, showed up on time, installed a terrific solar pool heating system for us at the price agreed to, PLUS proved to be quite professional and knowledgeable about ALL THINGS SOLAR!
