In the spring of I stumbled upon the USCCC via the internet and was thrilled about all the opportunities they had Then after doing some research and hearing many good reviews, I decided to jump on board The members of the organization were very helpful through all steps of the process and answered all my questions, phone calls, and emails in a very timely matter They even got the flights booked at a great discounted rate! Once in Beijing their agency set me up for success as a English teacher and showed us how to set up demo classes for the schools of Beijing we would teach at Sooner than I knew it I was working at a beautiful kindergarten with helpful staff and wonderful kids They kindly provided the resources they had but I found it easier to bring my own materials to work with Actually working with children taught me a lot more about teaching education than any other course or book I've studied and once you get the handle of it it's a really fun, easy, and fulfilling job I have to thank the USCCC for granting me an amazing trip and so many unforgettable memories This was a wonderful experience and I hope to do it again

[redacted] Teaching in China March 21, My Experience (as an English teacher in Zhangye) The idea of going to China had been on mind for several yearsThe first time was back in when my parents told me of their fascinating experience thereThe last time was in 2014, when I saw a sign on a van about teaching in China So after fourteen years of simmering, it was finally time In March of I was on my way to what would become a memorable and fulfilling journeyWhile my final destination was to be the city of Zhangye, I first spent one week in the capital city of BeijingThat week was exhilarating - the magnitude of the city, the abundance of people, the wonderful variety of food and so many people riding bicycles ( not as a means of recreation, but as transportation)! Besides the main sites, I also visited the campuses of Peking University and Renmin University and a popular English training institution The next part of the journey started with a hour long train ride from Beijing to Zhangye city in the province of GansuThe ride offered a visual array of beautiful landscapes and sites along with an opportunity to see first hand the massive development projects of roads/bridges/ infrastructure and buildingsI knew it was a big country, but it seemed more immense and boundless than I had imagined Once in Zhangye, I began working the following day by visiting several public schools in the city along with fellow teachers from my host schoolI took note of how things are done in the school, classroom, teachers approach, students behavior and response, resources utilized and so onThis went on for about 5-days and gave me a fair understanding of the similarities and differences in educating between our two countries and guided me in formulating my approach to teaching my studentsTuesday to Friday was spent preparing lessons, presenting an "English Corner" session to my fellow teachers, helping with marketing events, and classroom preparationMy students ranged in age from to and I found them to be much more disciplined in the classroom than their American counterpartsThe students were generally very excited to see a foreigner on the street, much less in their classroom and thus classroom participation and interest was quite high and fun I learned as much from the students as they learned from meI learned that Chinese students and parents have many of the same hopes and dreams as any other, but they spend much more time on studying than American studentsI found the people to be very family oriented, friendly and curiousI made friends that I hope will be long lasting and I would recommend the experience to anyone As in any place, nothing is perfect and one must be sure to have a clear understanding of expectations in terms of duties/responsibilities, accommodations, class hours, pay schedule and other things before making a commitmentA successful experience will be predicated largely on how well prepared you are and your flexibility

I have been working directly with the Chinese Cultural Center for almost one yearThroughout my experience, I have received professional, timely, and accurate support and assistance
In the summer of 2016, I participated in a summer teaching program through the Chinese Cultural Center and spent two months in Hohhot, Inner MongoliaThe details prior to leaving were thorough and well organizedAll expectations were presented in a clear fashionOnce I arrived in Inner Mongolia, I had support and information from the Chinese Cultural Center if I needed it
I would highly recommend the Chinese Cultural Center to anyone who is interested in Chinese culture or teaching English in ChinaIt has been a pleasure working with their organization, and I hope to continue a strong relationship in the future

I am just finishing up my journey and internship with Chinese Culture Center in Beijing, China, and I have to say, it has been nothing short of amazingI have absolutely fallen in love with China, its people, culture, and delicious foodThe program is very smooth and well-organized, and all of the staff, from beginning to end, are extraordinary helpful and kind, making sure you have everything you need, enjoying yourself, and finding success in your internshipThis fall semester, I will be moving to Shanghai to study abroad and I am so excited! I definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a life changing and positive experience10/

This is part of a review I first wrote on April 14, and posted to the Revdex.com websiteI will discuss my working and living experiences while at a Beijing UniversityI arrived on July 2, and upon exiting the international travelers exit was greeted by a student representative from the university who almost immediately took me to a taxi and accompanied me across Beijing to the universityArrival at the University Convention Center where I stayed also went quite smoothly and I found myself in my room with availableIt was days till my roommate showed upMy first few days were marked by adjusting to the time change and much local exploring of the campus and surrounding neighborhoods
Once the program began I went through orientation that first Friday in Beijing where the basic form of the program was outlined for us and I got to meet my graduate assistant ***, a senior journalism major at the universityOver the next weeks she was an invaluable asset I also met many of the educators in the program including finding out who the other USCCC recruits wereThese people become some of my closest friends while in Beijing, and we are all now connected through social mediaThe program began the following Monday with the kids and can only be described as a wonderful experienceWe did lecture every morning on a specific topic for the week from 8:to 9:covering three different topics for my group during the week programFrom 9:- 11:we held seminar with different groups each day to do activities related to my groups lecture topicThe activities facilitated student engagement with written and spoken EnglishFrom - pm each after noon I met with my homeroom class to cover in depth the lecture topic they had attended in the early morning lecture sessionI developed a close bond with my homeroom classIn the homeroom session we did a variety of activities involving having students create role playing situations where the kids developed dialogue related to the days lecture topic and the students acted out in skitsThe creativity I witnessed touched my heart so many times I lost countMy homeroom students also worked the first two weeks on a large group skit that each of the classes competed in for a coveted spot in the top that would perform on the final Friday of the programAlas my kids did not make the top 20, but I will say it made the last week less stressful as we watched many of our colleagues dealing with additional preparations for the final show
The three weeks saw all of my students overcome fear of using spoken English and by the end of the program many told me they had gained confidence to speak EnglishAt the end of the program I also connected with all of my students and graduate assistant through social media and have remained in contact with themI know that I touched their lives and that they in return touched my life, and we were all enriched by the mutual experienceI have already let many of the administrators of the program know I would be delighted to return next summer and repeat the program
Over the course of the program I had only one problem that centered on my roommate situationHe was a loud snorer and I was losing - hours' sleep each nightHe also kept the room AC at the coldest possible setting and took virtually every inch of counter space leaving none for meI tried to talk to him about courtesy in sharing the room but he was inconsiderateI should have contacted *** sooner at USCCC, but I did notI tried to deal with the situation through the American leadership in the program and was not sure that they really understood how serious my situation wasTwo days later just when I thought I was going to have grounds for disappointment with the program, I did send an email to *** at USCCC detailing the situation to herLea contacted the Chinese administrator in Beijing, who took care of everything almost exactly hours after I sent the email to Lea at USCCC
My life has been changed by my experience this summerI am deeply grateful to *** at USCCC for facilitating and supporting me during the whole processI look forward to working with her and USCCC again to return to China for more educational opportunities leading to my planned 3rd career, to work full time in China starting sometime in

I have just recently returned from an assignment at University of Science and Technology Beijing (July 1-26, 2015)The experience was amazingThe Chinese Cultural Center, and Director ***, found me the best contract and assignment, took care of the Visa paperwork, assisted in travel arrangements, and simply took the worry about going to ChinaThis was my first trip to China and I simply had to focus on the experienceThe small fee required from Chinese Culture Center (CCC) is quite reasonable considering the services they provideI recommend CCC for those considering contracts in ChinaMy experience with CCC was quite positive and I will work with them again

I had researched a few different programs to make my return to China in I had studied abroad in China two times in college in large cities and wanted a different experience in the "real China." The Chinese Culture Center was a great resource in taking away all of my anxieties and stress about the entrance process into ChinaThey took care of my visa and all details about the contractIt would not be wise to try to handle going to China by yourselfThe CCC made it an easy process and they were always available for any questions I had during my year in ChinaI would recommend this organization to help you get a fulfilling China experience

This is part one of a two part reviewI found the Chinese Culture Center through an internet searchAfter evaluating the web site I decided to applyThe intake process has gone pretty smoothlyThere is an upfront fee to be paid that covers the TESL certification, Beginning Mandarin Language Course and fees for the travel visaThis is all spelled out on the web siteWhile gathering all the requested documents was a pain, when is finding employment ever easy? I put it all together and emailed and sent paper copies via snail mailIt took a week and I was acceptedThen the second round of documents was requested and this time it included sending my passport to SCI was directed to send my passport via "free Priority envelopes, tracking # and $insurance at a flat rate of $5.75", so I felt okI could track my passports progress, and upon arrival at SC I obtained verification from both the post office and USCCCI waited patiently about another month to find out what my placement would be, and am very happy with where I will be sentAs I am an experienced teacher with years classroom experience I will be placed at Beijing University of Sciences and Technology for weeks this coming JulyI will work with to incoming freshmen university students who will become English language teachersThe host institution placed in my contract reimbursement for my travel expensesSummer teachers in the program must understand that they will usually have to pay for their airfareThough for experienced teachers there are limited slots including summer airfare reimbursementI was lucky to get one of thoseI have always gotten replies to my emails and never had a problem getting someone on the phonePart two of this review will be written upon my return from China this July, Look for it right around August

I found out about the CCC by living next to the building while a student at USC. I had never lived abroad before and the CCC made it very easy to obtain the required visas/permits. They also found a university to employ me. This was great as it relieved the stress that can go along with these processes. I had a great experience living and China for a year and would recommend the CCC.

The Chinese Culture Center provided me with a great experience by helping me to visit China and participate in a summer program teaching English. It was definitely worth it. The process is very smooth and easy. After providing the necessary documents and making the payment, they did everything else. I sent my passport and received it back with a Chinese visa, they booked my plane ticket, arranged transportations and accommodations while in China, provided good food and anything else that you could need on your trip. There are various programs where you can be placed; they are fairly flexible to your request of dates, however you must also show some flexibility too. My program was a small summer camp in Zhuo Zhou around an hour and half drive from Beijing. We stayed in Zhuo Zhou during the week, and went to Beijing during the weekends for several excursions and cultural activities (paid already by the program). The attention that you receive from the personal while in China is great. As for the teaching part, it is fairly good. School equipment vary from school to school (most of them with projectors, chalkboards, paper, etc.). The personal is very friendly and helpful, they treat you really well. And the conditions of the school were excellent. During my stay in China they provided good hotel accommodations. Hotels included breakfast, and the school provided lunch. As for dinner you may get money to buy it yourself or the school may also provide it. At the end, the whole experience was great. I am really glad that I had the chance to visit China through this program. The whole experience was great.

I had a positive experience with the Chinese Cultural Center located in Columbia, SC. They handled my visas nicely, and found a good placement for me in China to teach English. I am sincerely grateful to them.

My experience with the USCCC Summer Program 2015 was indescribably awe-inspiring and professionally invaluable. I have gained such great insight into education as an art through the cultural exchanges I experienced during my interactions while working with Chinese teachers and students. In an ever expanding world of global interconnectedness, I feel that this program helped me to grow both as an individual engaging in intercultural communications within the context of my everyday life and as a student and part-time educator interacting with a curriculum which includes increasingly global concerns. Moreover, the professional experience has lead to some wonderful opportunities with employment and volunteer positions as an ESL instructor. Yet, even beyond my personal and professional growth, the most rewarding aspect of my experience was the relationships and shared memories that I formed with those that I encountered. Not only did they touch my lives, but I also touched theirs, and that is priceless. I consider this program to be far more than a basic internship, it is a life altering venture.

This summer, I spent time in Beijing teaching English with the help of the Chinese Culture Center. I had an amazing experience. State-side, I had all the guidance and support I needed, from visa acquisition to flight information to an active liaison that communicated with the company in China that helped me there. If you have ever wanted to see China, experience the culture, learn the language, meet new people, and have the experiences that you will remember for the rest of your life, sign up now and go. I promise you, you will not regret it.

In May of 2014, I graduated from Texas State University with a Liberal Arts Degree in International Business. While in university I took 4 years of Mandarin Chinese and my teacher recommended the Chinese Culture Center. In spring of 2015, I applied to the Culture Center and was immediately provided assistance and a path to getting a contract working in China. Within a few weeks of my application, Lea W[redacted] was able to find me contracts in Hubei and Beijing. She then set up an interview with Hubei Medical University.
After I had secured my position at Hubei Medical University, Mrs. W[redacted] provided me with a list of documents to fill out. Once my paperwork was submitted and completed by professional offices I was asked to send my passport in order to start the process of getting a Z Work Visa. The most stressful part of the entire process was waiting to get my passport back. I was very nervous because one week prior to my trip I still had not received my passport. When the days until departure were winding down, I was able to stay in contact with Lea throughout the entire process. Though the entire process was stressful and a bit expensive Lea W[redacted] was very helpful and fulfilled the Chinese Culture Centers mission. I am satisfied and happy with my choice to use the Chinese Culture Center, and I would recommend it to anyone starting their search for work in China.

Subject: CHINA PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD

Lea:

I want to take this time to thank you for the opportunity to teach in
China. I do love China so much. I have devised a Special Teaching
Program for "ALL" Students and is now in the China Patent Process. I
have also contributed my free time and money to teaching programs and
also to needy students.
Because of this China has granted me a PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD (green
card). Attached is a copy for you.
again much thanks.

I have been working with USCCC and Lea W[redacted] for over a year now. I found the experience to be quite pleasant. They were very good about finding me a position in Beijing on very short notice. They helped arrange the contract and living quarters. The were also very good about coordination of logistics. They helped me once again find me a professor position at a university in the south of China. Again they handled the contract and logistics flawlessly. I got a 1000 square foot furnished apartment with 2 baths within walking distance of the university. They arranged to make the apartment very Americanized for me with all the comforts of home. I was also given an assistant who handles my day to day affairs. Lea walker is always available to help me with any issues that arise. So far, things have gone quite smoothly. I look to getting my next assignment with the help of USCCC and make this a long term carreer. Highest recommendation given.

I had a positive experience with the Chinese Culture Center. For the most part, the representatives were good at replying to questions on time, and communicating clearly what was expected. However, the teaching company that CCC put me in contact with upon my arrival in China was much more difficult to work with; they did a poor job of communicating and answering questions, and at times I had trouble receiving the pay I was entitled to. Therefore I would recommend teachers work with CCC, but recommend CCC take a closer look at who they work with in China.

I wanted to take the time to positively relate my experience with the Chinese Culture Center and their partner schools within China in July 2016.

I am a Scottish secondary teacher of English and was seeking the chance to return to China and stumbled upon the Chinese Culture Center's paid teaching exchange program. I was selected and was able to work at a school in Dongguan City, near Guangzhou in the south of China. I was placed with several wonderful American teachers, many of whom I have stayed in contact with, and was thrilled with the experience I had there. We were placed in a hotel not far from the school and provided breakfast, lunch and snacks each day. The Chinese colleagues we had were beyond helpful, going above and beyond in every venture (private and personal). I also maintain contact with many of my Chinese friends and found it fantastic to teach younger students for a change, participating in their school's summer camp. We were given a rough curriculum to work with as a guide, but were also given the opportunity to use our own abilities and expertise to tailor and personalize our teaching.

I found the experience invaluable and hope to repeat the program some day.
