in response to the complaint in the hundred dollar repair I will explain prior to my arrival in this customer hired a contractor to raise the ceilings up to the underlined part of the roof rafters ...they removed the collar ties & ceiling joists & NEVER installed a point load support or
not even replace the ridge with a micro lam to carry the roof load Of course...all done w/o architectural drawing , plans or engineering I showed this customer using my level ...how "out of plumb"...the walls are I explain to this customer that they should get that contract your back and repair the damage that he caused to their home I'm sure the roof we installed never leaked in the past years it's the movement of the underlying structure that probably stretched the roof for ripped the tar paper that caused the leak so please let it be known publicly that customers should not hire contractors that are not licensed and also don't have proper engineering structural drawings before they enter into their home I'm pretty certain that this house is still moving...settling

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

In response to Splinters Inc. allegation that their warranty
is not in effect because the home suffered subsequent damage after their
roof installation, the area that is leaking is in fact the roof and skylight
area located in the front of the house which has never suffered damage of any
kind.   According to third party Home Improvement
and Roofing Company assessments, the leaking is a direct result of the skylight
being installed improperly.
While it is irrelevant to the issue of the skylight leaking,
I am compelled to respond to his allegations and note that Splinters Inc / [redacted]’s statements regarding damages to my home are false.  Splinters Inc / [redacted] was not involved in
assessing or repairing my home and statements regarding the cause, the extent
of damage and remediation required to my home are not factual and are in fact,
defamatory and insulting.
At this point I will not pursue my complaint against
Splinters, Inc. or [redacted] in part because I would not trust the
workmanship of the repair work and also because of how [redacted] has chosen to
conduct himself in this situation.
I thank the Revdex.com for facilitating the
interaction between myself and Splinters.

When we remolded our home in October of 1991 we used a highly recommended local home builder and contractor absolutely licensed, [redacted], ###-###-####.  We have had no problems with any part of his work on our home.  Our home in no way is still settling 23 years later!   Why is [redacted] dodging the basic issue of not returning my many phone calls.  How can you guarantee your work if you can't be reached? The small issue I had was a tiny leak near a skylight and I expected normal business courtesy of a return phone call. Sorry [redacted] that is no way to conduct business  and try to put this small problem off on someone else. I wanted others to be aware of his horrible business practices.

Splinters did install a new roof on [redacted] home several years ago.  Since the date of install , I believe back in 2011, [redacted] was very pleased not only with his new roof but also in the excellent service provided and care for his home and property.   [redacted] has recommended us to his...

neighbors as well.
[redacted] failed to point out in his fraudulent complaint and claim is Huricane Sandy.   [redacted]'s home took a direct hit by several huge oak trees that fell on his home and caused tens of thousands of damage.   I stopped by several days after the storm had hit to offer assistance.   [redacted] had paid over $8000 to have "just the tree limbs removed" from his crushed home.  The front right and right side of his home was severely damaged.
With no electricity to his home...like so many others , [redacted] purchased a generator and was getting it ready to power up his home.   I happened to be in his neighborhood a few days later when [redacted] waved me down and asked for help with his new generator.   I noticed that there was a manufacture defect in the fuel tank "shut-off" valve that was badly leaking.   I showed [redacted] the bad gas leak and told [redacted] NOT TO USE THIS GENERATOR until it is properly repaired by the distributor , I even went to [redacted]'s wife and said , not to use the generation unless it is professionally repaired.
[redacted] refused to listen to my advice.   I found out the next day when I was in his neighborhood helping a customer of mine ,that [redacted] put the leaking gas tank generator in his back yard, installed several extension cords from the generator threw his window into his home.   Well , wouldn't you know , the generator caught on fire.  The fire traveled onto the gas soaked rubber casing of the several extension cords right into [redacted]'s home....smart man.
the back of his home and the interior caught on fire.   The fire company came to put it out.
Now....there is extensive damage to this home not only from the Huricane Sandy , but also to [redacted]'s negligence and stupidity.
The home interior and exterior were severly damaged , not to mention the Roof in Question.
I asked [redacted] if he needed an estimate for All the repairs, he said that he is planning on using an"old friend" A.K.A.  another contractor for the work.  [redacted] said , Don't worry about the roof I installed or it's warrantee , the "friend" will take care of it and all other repairs.
Months go by and [redacted] told me that he got so much money from his insurance company that he even finished off his basement that was never Damaged.
yes....I didn't return [redacted]'s calls....and Yes , there is No Warrantee from me or my company for his roof that was destroyed by Sandy and his stupidity.
thank you.

After serving over 3200 overly satisfied customers in 23 years , with only a handful of complaints , I can live with this.
Thank you for your patronage.

Review: Splinters put on a new roof for us in 2007. They promised a 15 warranty on the product and workmanship. We recently developed a small leak after 4ave phone calls and left messages we have not received a call back. Their recorder identifies the business as Splinters.Desired Settlement: I'd like $100 reimbursment for hiring another company to fix the leak. I'd also like others to know about their business practices.

Review: In December 2011 Splinters Inc installed a new roof and skylight on my residence for a fee of $10,610. In early May 2014 we were first made aware of water damage in our ceiling and called Splinters for help. Since the first phone call we placed in May we have repeatedly called the company leaving numerous voice mail messages asking for help. During this time there were several rain showers which resulted in repeated leaking and further damage to my home. As a customer with a 2.5 year old roof it is reasonable for me to expect the company to at a minimum respond to my phone call, discuss the issue and discuss potential remedy.Desired Settlement: A phone call leading to a repair.
