12 years I have lived in my apartment. So far I have written 5 letters regarding critical issues.
1. Removed speed bumps. No protection for children at end of complex. Seem drug dealers need speed to buy their drugs in the complex.
2. No fire alarms for over on year in my building.
3. No children playing or speed limit signs
4 Dog s[censored] all over. Illegal to have a dog unless legitimate service animal and homeowners insurance. I have stepped in dog s[censored] getting my mail NO ONE CLEANS IT UP.
5. Used to have a maintenance person who cleaned the property every day. Now we have rats.
6. Several apartment meant for 2 -3 person family, many occupied by one person.
7. Several apartments have people living in them and not on the lease.
8. Pitbull that bite a child now backing living in apartment with convicted felon NOT ON THE LEASE
9. Outdoor lights not working for 10 years. I was told 20,000 to fix. Took electrician 4 hours to tighten the light bulbs. Now they work. ALWAYS THE LIES! NEVER THE TRUTH
10. Laundry room a disaster. Garbage on the floor. Floors filthy. Door left open at night so druggies can sleep there.
11. Several apartments with non working appliances. So I have been told by other tenants.
12. 4 months and the druggie apartment that housed the squatters sitting empty. I have repeatedly asked for a environmental assessment. Not available if they ever did it. I live next door. HAVE I BEEN INFECTED?
13. SHV I might add, illegally (supporting documents were not available as advised). So they got a rent hike increase for increased maintenance costs. No capital improvements made. All we got was a cut back of maintenance and s[censored] management. How was it that the previous owners replace the roof, the cabinets, windows and insulation WITHOUT A RENT INCREASE. Where is this money going? Not being spent here.
14. I have been warned that if I keep up with my complaints I might see the complex de certified and all tenants would need to find alternative housing. That is not just me but other tenants have been told this.
15. Read their mission statement. Actions speak louder that a "mission statement"

Review: We have no running water in our apartment. It has been this way for over 24 hrs now. The property manager [redacted] is very rude and not at all reassuring. I have spoken with her twice. I have spoken with the apartment manager. I have spoken with the apartment manager's helper. There's no one else I can talk to or make aware of the problem. Spokane Housing Ventures seems incapable of resolving this issue. It's unacceptable to me that the best they could come up with or try is putting a hair dryer on a pipe for 2-3 hrs in the first 24 hrs of knowing about this problem, and that the property manager is being so rude and trying to not have to deal with me. She does not want to deal with the problem, or reassure me at all. She just wants me to deal with Steven. I tried calling Steven and knocking on his door before even contacting her the first time. It got me nowhere. Working with Steven and lending him a heater to use in conjunction with his blowdryer also got me nowhere. This is why I called her back, because I feel the issue is not being resolved. It could be days before the weather warms up enough to unfreeze our pipes. We cannot wash our hands, shower/bath, wash dishes, clean clothes, or flush our toilet due to lack of water. We are both sick, my roomate and myself.Desired Settlement: I want our water running again, it's unacceptable to me to have to live in these conditions. I'm pretty sure the apartment complex is federally funded and gets money from the government to ensure certain quality standards are met. Standards like running water at the apartments. I pay this company a lot of money to live here month after month. I feel the least they could do is spend a little of that money to get the water running, and meet health codes.
