Fork seals and fork oil are not covered under extended warranty by HondaThat means they will NOT pay to get this fixed on your bike if your fork seals are leakingThis is not a Spokane Powersports policy, it is a American Honda policyIf you disagree with this policy, and obviously you do, take it up with American Honda.*** ***OwnerSpokane Powersports Inc

Revdex.com,
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
Isssue 1 and 2. It is true that I did not purchase the
vehicle and extended warranty from this dealer.  I purchased it from Mays
Honda in Sandpoint Idaho. They replaced one defective seal under the original
warranty.  I the purchased an extended
warranty  to cover any other unforeseen problems.  Unfortunately that dealership is no longer in
business.  However their argument has no
bearing hear as the warranty I seek is a
Honda warranty not a dealer warranty.
Issue 2 I indeed took the bike in on October 3 of last
year and had a safety recall for rear brake line fixed at the dealer. They seem
responsive at that time. Then on 1 September of this year I brought the bike in and
provided the extended warranty information to the service manager.  He did not inspect the seals to see if there
was a defect but just said it was not covered
Regards,
[redacted]

Review: I bought a brand new [redacted] CB500X from this [redacted] dealer. After a purchasing the motorcycle I discovered that the handle bars were crooked. I took the bike to the service department and they confirmed that the handle bars were crooked and they said that they adjusted them and they were straight. I took the bike home and found that the handle bars were better than they were originally but were still crooked. I took the bike back to them and they deny that the handle bars are crooked when they obviously are. They were asking me to take the bike to another dealership. They do not want to take the time to fix the problem correctly. So now I am forced to take the bike to a different dealership to fix the problem. They service department is was very rude and basically was telling me that I did not know what I was talking about. I would not recommend anybody to purchase anything from this business. They do not stand behind their products. Even the new products that they sell.Desired Settlement: I would either want the dealership to fix the problem. Or provide me with a new bike.

Response:

On 07/25/2013 Mr. [redacted] purchased a new [redacted] CB500X from us here at Spokane Powersports. Mr. [redacted] brought the bike back to us on 8/6/2013 for us to install a center stand and to straighten the front forks/triple trees out on the bike, which we did. When new bikes get set up, sometimes the installer might not get the bars exactly straight to the triple trees, as was the case with Mr. [redacted]'s. We installed his centerstand and doublechecked the setup, straightened the bars in relation to the triple trees( I believe they were off about a 1/16th of a inch), test rode and sent him on his way. One month later Mr. [redacted] came back complaining that his bars were still bent, and that something was still wrong with his front end of his bike. This time we took the time to measure everything, checked the relationship to the triple trees, and we had multiple people test ride his bike to verify if there was a problem. There is no problem. His bars are set exactly equal(see attached photos). I believe the problem Mr. [redacted] is having is that on the CB500X the way the front nacelle/gauges are produced and installed from the factory nothing is perfectly straight, nor will it ever be on a production bike(see attached photo) We tried to explain this to Mr. [redacted] however since he is a engineer he did not want to listen. Since his bike is still under factory warranty we suggested that there are three other [redacted] dealers in the area and he was more than welcome to get second and third opinions on his problem as we can not find one here.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9723777, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

This company refuses to acknowledge the fact that the handle bars on my new Honda CBX500 motorcycle are crooked. If you look at the attached picture, you will see that the left handle bar is further forward and a little bit higher than the right handle bar with my front wheel being straight.

Review: On March 13 2015 We bought a new polaris rzr 570 for 11,139.45, the sales man [redacted] said to bring it back after it had 25 hours of it I asked how much wiil it cost he about $150, I called Monday 3/20/15 and made a appointment for sat morning 3/25/15, we showed up sat at about 10am and after I spent 15-20 unloading the rzr from the trailer the service manager came out a asked me if I got his message I said no what number did you call he said he wasn't sure and I checked my cell phone and no message when I got home there was no message I told him I just drove almost 100 miles he said ok I will see if we can get you in then I asked him how much and he said $230 plus parts, I found [redacted] the salesman and he denied telling me $150, I got mad and loaded it up and left.

Response:

I have tried three times to get a hold of this customer- the first time he answered the phone then when I identified myself he hung up, the second and third times I have left voicemail messages with no response. I really don't know what to say with exception to I think there was a miscommunication somewhere- As far as $150 dollars for the first service on a Polaris RZR- that sounds about right for the labor amount( we charge $100.00 a hour and the first service on a RZR takes about a hour and a half) but that does not include parts, shop supplies, and tax. We don't get in the habit of quoting parts and labor complete because we work on so many different types of machines(each one is different and takes different amounts of parts, etc.) We have some new employees in the shop, and I did not get a chance to talk or overhear what was said on that Saturday- so I really can't comment on this exact situation, but I do know we were down a technician for that day as he was sick, and the service writer was calling customers to try to reschedule them to another day. The numbers we have for this customer do not match the numbers we have in our computer system- so it is possible we got a wrong number. Bottom line is I am sorry he had a bad experience with us but we are human and no one is perfect- once again I have tried to contact the customer and have gotten no response from him.

Review: I have a 2008 Honda ST 1300 Vin [redacted] purchased new in 2009 for which I purchased a Honda Care protection plan contract number [redacted] which expires in 4/25/2016. The bike has a defective fork seal which is causing it to leak.

I have maintained the vehicle according to the required maintenance schedule including periodic inspections of the suspension system. I ride the bike normally usually for touring. When I took the bike to Spokane Powersports Honda dealer in Spokane Washington (which is the closest dealer to me) the service manager [redacted] stated it was not covered under the warranty because it was a wear item like tires brake pads, air filters, sprockets or chains. I feel it should be covered under warranty. The plan brochure states that Honda will replace parts or workmanship under normal use during the duration of the plan. I do not feel that this is a wear part like a tire and should last the duration of the warranty period.

Further, when I purchased this coverage in 2012 the Honda powersports web page stated the following in part. “ Here's a quick inside look at just a few of the items covered by a Honda Protection Plan:” and listed under chassis Forks, Shock, Swing arm, and frame. This shows that Honda intended for fork parts to be part of the warranty program If you go to the cite you can see the same statement. [redacted].

The fork is essentially dampers, seals and springs that should not wear out during normal use for at least the duration of the warranty unless there is a defective part.Desired Settlement: I would like them to honor the warranty and repair the forks.
