authorize it, they add the tip, and we finalize it as the final amount. Sometimes the amounts are held and can take a few days to come off their banking system. Once we swipe the card, the information is in the computer. We can show the signed copy of the credit card receipts. They can release the funds within their banking institution, but we cannot do that here. We are happy to reimburse customers if they are overcharged and have proof.

I have dealt with many establishments over the years and have never had this problem. I've used my card this way for over ten years and this has been the first time having to ever deal with this hassle.
