Sports Club At City Square Reviews (3)

Ms. [redacted] statement is completely void of any facts.  I will be faxing you (can't email/no scanner) a copy of our contract and a letter sent to Ms. [redacted] the day after she left.  She decided not to be a member after I sat down with her and tried to explain our policy of full...

disclosure for any membership that was to be paid monthly.  Since she didn't agree, I 'denied' her application for membership.  This is after 4 days of using the club and telling my staff each time she came in she forgot to get the necessary information (she didn't know her work address or phone number???).   She told us she worked for [redacted] so I googled the address and phone number and asked her if that was the right location and number and she got upset that I did that and said she didn't want to be a member if I needed that information.  As a [redacted] employee she has used her friend to try to discredit the club on social media because she is not allowed to do so. As you can see from the FAX I am sending you, she is getting a full refund because her application for membership, was denied.  If she has not already received this letter, then the address on her application is also false and unfortunately that is where the refund will be sent.  Or she's just lying to you with a false complaint. Fact: As a semi-private club we require ALL memberships paid monthly, to provide a full application.  The requirements are not so strict if the membership is paid in full.  Her statement that that was not explained from day one, is also false.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I have received a letter stating I will be receiving a full refund to my credit card it was originally charged on but have not received the credit back. I only visited the club on one occasion after signing up which was also the same day I ended up canceling my membership. I have attached the documentation showing a club member approved my membership with my application as well as the cancellation form I was required to complete to cancel my membership. I have also included a picture of the letter that was sent apologizing for the lack of communication I had received and additional options for other gym memberships I could still sign up for. I was never told employment information was a requirement for a month to month membership even though I came in multiple times prior to signing up to ask what was needed. There is also nothing in writing stating that employment information is required for a gym membership. To this day, I have still not received an explanation as to why employment information is needed for a month to month membership but not an annual contract. I have also not received an explanation of why I was not told this was a requirement prior to signing up yet such a big deal was made after the fact. I came in multiple times asking questions because I wanted to be prepared when I actually signed up. If I had been told it was a requirement, I would have made a point to get that information prior to signing up. In regard to my friend that was referenced, she did sign up at the gym at the same time I did and went through the same exact situation. If any review was written, it was done so without my assistance or knowledge.I was also contacted a couple days after the original incident by another employee of [redacted] who had been approached by the owner and asked if he knew who I was. The owner also asked about my friend and why we had canceled our memberships.

Review: I signed up for Sports Club on 01/10/14. I had visited twice to take a tour the first time and the second time to ask some follow up questions on what was needed to sign up. The paperwork I filled out was for a monthly membership. I was asked for my employer name, address and phone number. I provided the name and advised them I did not have the address or number. They told me it was required with a month to month membership but not if I signed a year contract.

I came to the gym today 01/14/14) to workout and they told me I had to provide my employer information or could not workout even though I have paid the first and last month fees including a registration fee The director got mad at me and asked why I was so secretive about my job information and I explained I am not secretive about it, I was upset that I asked multiple times what was needed to sign up and this information was not provided to me. There is nothing in writing that states employer information is required to sign up for a month to month membership. I have canceled my membership due to the fact I will not be permitted to workout there since I did not provide my employer informationDesired Settlement: I am requesting a full refund because I was not advised employer information was required for month to month membership, it is not in writing it is required and I was advised I would not be permitted to workout in the gym even though I paid all my fees required.
