We will NOT install a non OEM or used part for brakes…  It is clearly a safety issue not to mention a
huge liability.  AND yes, the top line
that we pointed out to him is a main supply vacuum line to the brake booster.   I understand he’s...

worked on Chevrolets for a
long time, however this is a Mercedes which the technician working on his
vehicle has over 38 years’ experience.  We specialize in the older vintage models which other dealers will no longer service.

He is not our only customer and we try to be very accommodating...
we did allow him to even drop his vehicle off on a Saturday… which is a day we
are not open…  and his car is to be ready
tomorrow as we stated to him at a earlier time.

Mr. [redacted] came in with an ignition/battery issue.  We did not schedule him an appointment
because of his issue but took him in first.
I already knew he was having an issue because on Saturday when we were
closed I checked the shops incoming calls from home and...

saw his name..  I could not retrieve his number so I drove
downtown to the shop to call him in case it was an emergency.
We plugged him into the computer and it showed there was a Bulletin
on that issue.  Many times if an issue
has been occurring on particular vehicles a manufacturer will issue a bulletin..
if the issue occurs MORE often they will then issue a recall or warranty that
item.  We advised Mr. [redacted] to take
his vehicle to the Mercedes dealer and have them check to see if it is a
warranty item or recalled item because it had a bulletin.  We always look out for the customers best
interest and where others would have just wanted to charge the customer without
even checking.. we want to see if it was covered free elsewhere.   The
manufacturer has the final say so on what is and what is not covered under
recall.
Mr. [redacted] took his vehicle to the Mercedes dealer.  He called back to let me know that the
dealers computers were down.  I asked him
what did they tell him to do.. and he advised me that they were to call him or
he would go back up there.  I do not know
if Mr. [redacted] went back to the dealer or if they called him but sometime
later he called back and said that the dealer had said it wasn’t covered.  I advised Mr. [redacted] that he could come
back here if he wanted us to repair it and I did say that we would probably be
cheaper.  I then advised our service
writer that if Mr. [redacted] did decide to come back and have it repaired here
then I would give him the parts at cost and cover a rental car for him.  I was in no way obligated to do that.   We
always go out of the way for our customers and I find it extremely
disheartening when people don’t realize it or appreciate it.   We cannot foresee the future.  The [redacted]s have put over 3600 miles on their
vehicle.  Even brand new cars have issues…
that’s why they have a service department.
We have been at the same location for 25 years, most all my
employees have been with Sports & Imports for no less than 8 years..  We give personal service and have a huge
amount of repeat customers because of it.
We would never wrongly charge a customer.
Since the [redacted]s left earlier today,  I have personally made sure that
we spoke again the Mercedes dealer just to double verify that it was NOT a
covered item.. Simply because I wanted to know myself if Mr. [redacted] had been
told the correct information.  And that
item is not a factory recall or factory warranty item.

We renewed all the video on all the cameras.  The vehicle was never around a light colored car while it was on this property.  However it was parked on the left side of 11th Street against the Ga Power sidewalk and grass.  On that day the yard crew came and did their grass....

They use a stand up riding type of mower and after watching the video while it was on that side of the street... we've concluded that it was damaged by that mover.
I tried contacting the owner 8/1, 8/2 and finally got Ms [redacted] on the phone 8/11/16.  I advise her of this and although it was not damaged here I told her we would handle getting that area on the drivers rear repaired.  I asked her to bring it any time and we would get it repaired.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted].  Sports & Imports did not readily accept responsibility for damage to my vehicle for over two weeks and only after Revdex.com complaints filed against business.  Regardless of where my vehicle was parked, stored, or located during two weeks my vehicle was in possession of the business for repairs, the business was fully aware damage occurred after vehicle was left in their custody.  Several opportunities given to owner to apologize for damage and offer repairs.  However, he was avoidant, rude, and hostile.  Absolutely no customer service approach!!  Ultimately, I received my repaired vehicle back today and was pleased with repairs done at Linwood Body Shop.  I will not return to Sports & Imports nor will I recommend the business either.
