Billing or Collection Issues
First of all I
would like to state the fact that our mission at Spriggs -Watson Funeral Home is to treat all of our clients with the highest level of compassion and respect and that this complaint from Mrs*** *** Valentine is completely false
Mrs*** *** had requested that some changes be made to the initial arrangements made with Spriggs-Watson Funeral Home and that the remainder of the burial trust be refunded to herShe was mailed a check in the amount of $which was the remainder of the $burial trust paid to Spriggs -Watson Funeral Home for service rendered in regards to her deceased motherOur fee of $was only for service that begins with the pickup of the deceased when it is local, (because to have a loved one’s remains transported from another state is an additional cost that is negotiated between the family and the out of state funeral home...not the receiving funeral home) and ends once the Funeral Service itself has endedBurial and/or cremation is a totally separate bill, arranged by the family with the chosen cemetery at their place of businessThese costs and payment we have nothing to do withThe money refunded to her included the fees for the cemetery because that is a separate bill from the funeral home expenseI have tried to explain this to her but she doesn’t seem to understand that the Funeral Home has no connection with the cemetery expense and/or billing
I regret that this misunderstanding of billing and procedure has occurred, however I honestly do not know of any other way in which to explain this to Mrs*** ***
