7/20/2016In response to complaint ID [redacted]:On 7/2/2016 [redacted] and [redacted] met with Jennifer B[redacted], an employee at Spring Hill Realty. They saw a condo at one of our apartment complexes, [redacted] Apartments and Condos located in Pottstown, PA along with [redacted]...

Telford, PA [redacted]. On 7/5/2016 [redacted] submitted an application for our home at [redacted] Telford, PA [redacted] along with a woman by the name of [redacted]. On the application it clearly states at the top of the form that there is a $40.00 NON-REFUNDABLE application fee (per person). The applicants gave Spring Hill Realty a cashier's check in the amount of $753.00 ($80.00 for 2 applications ($40.00 each) leaving $673.00 for the holding deposit – the holding deposit is so that the unit that the applicant is applying for may be held while the application(s) are being processed.) The applicants signed a deposit agreement stating that if their application was denied that the holding deposit would be returned to them. In this case the holding deposit was in the amount of $673.00. This amount was returned to the applicants because their application was denied.In this case, the applicants filled out their applications and put the necessary documents in our drop box located outside of our office in Pottstown located at [redacted] Pottstown, PA [redacted]. This application was then given to our corporate office located at [redacted] Harleysville, PA [redacted] where it is then processed by Danielle F[redacted] - residential tenant relations. When running an application the only knowledge of the applicant that we have is what is listed by the applicant on the application along with a drivers license. So, to say that we discriminated against him for that and the way that he dresses\tattoos is untrue. The corporate office is where the final decision is made based on facts given to us through our credit check company, the applicants current\previous landlord and employer and the application is either approved or denied based on such information and if the applicant(s) qualify for the home they are applying based on their income. Spring Hill Realty does not discriminate based on race, gender, age, disabilities, way of income, etc.After being informed that the applications were denied, [redacted] called our office 12+ times arguing with and yelling at many people at our corporate office. At first we were very patient and took time to explain the situation and that we would be refunding the holding deposit in the amount of $673.00. [redacted] was very unreasonable and would not listen to what we were saying. He would talk over us, threaten us, yell, etc. resulting in Spring Hill Realty needing to block his phone number as well as make a police report. All phone calls are recorded.
