In response to the complaint filed against us; ID [redacted]; I am enclosing a step by step accord of how this process works to better prove the legitimacy of our actions.When [redacted] brought her 2004 [redacted] to us it was not for a checkup, it was do to her seeing smoke while driving....

When we checked the vehicle we found it had no coolant in the radiator so we proceeded to attempt to fill it up so we can detect the source of the leak. Once we began to put coolant/antifreeze in the vehicle it immediately began to come out of the lower radiator hose.In order to properly check and diagnose a vehicle all systems involved will have to be complete. There is no way to pressure test a cooling system if it has a missing or broken component which prohibits the build up of pressure. She was informed that in order to check any further we would have to install the new hose to seal the system and complete the check out process. At this point she agreed to continue. She was informed do to time it took to contact her it would be Monday before we would have the chance to get back to it.Monday when we returned to work, we continued to check the vehicle at which time we found it had a blown head gasket. The head gasket is located between the cylinder head and the engine block and its primary function is to seal the engine lubrication ports and engine coolant ports as to not cross contaminate each other.The only ways to detect a blown head is to check for combustion gases through the cooling system which is only completed through a completed system, or checking for different forms of smoke from the exhaust system do to fluids entering the combustion chamber which also needs to have a complete system to allow the flow of fluids.The allegations of the vehicle being in proper operating condition when she brought it into our facility is incorrect. We have an excellent repair record and highly trained auto technicians who take pride in their workmanship.We understand her frustration with her car being out of service and would like to help her but we will not be responsible for a problem that was not cause by us or do to or negligence.Respectfully,Lorena B[redacted]
