Mr. Ruder brought his 1911 Gilbert clock in for cleaning, oiling, and adjusting 11/25/13. Cost of COA is 140.00 and we took a 70.00 deposit. We cleaned oiled and adjusted the clock after total disassembly and the clock would not stay running....
Because we can not order parts for a Gilbert clock we are now looking for a movement that is not badly worn. We find the movements at garage sales, auctions and flea markets. The movement we found was from 1907. If we did not tell Mr. [redacted] about the process we have to go through, we should have. He may have thought we lost it or misplaced it. I did tell you on the phone that we were still working on it. We do not have a certified clock maker (clock repair person) in the shop. That is why the [redacted] sticker is on the back showing when the clos was COA'D. Two COA'S cost 340.00. We hope you are enjoying your clock. It is under warranty for one year.

I was never informed of any work that was done to my clock or that the movement was changed. If I had not contacted the State attorney General's off ice I might never got my clock back. The 1911 movement might have been removed and sold, who knows. Mr. [redacted] indicated that he does not have a repair person but his ads do. " Clock repairs by certified Clock Makers." [redacted] Jewelry has had complaints about their work so I wouldn't take anything to them. All he did after I finally got a call on Feb.26th to pick up my clock, was to ad up all these extra charges he wanted me to pay. The clock does not keep time and can't be adjusted. I would like to receive a cashiers check for the $70.00 down I paid in Nov. 13.
