Springfield Lawn Barber, Ltd. Reviews (6)

Unfortunately this is a simple case of the customer turning the wheel and jumping the track. There is no other way for the car to "get stuck". We had video of her being loaded correctly just like the 700 other cars that day.We offered to pay half of the hubcap repair out out of a pure desire to...

go above and beyond, but they declined.

I am rejecting this response because:
Like all of the other responses, this one too was meaningless and did not address their responsibility for the damage incurred on my MBZ ML350.  All of my statements have been true and accurate and my witness will testify as required to all related matters. For onlookers, be aware of all Quick Quack Car Wash locations; possible vehicle damage, unscrupulous badgering to get your vehicle repaired at their facility, not yours and of course their determination to have you walk away from a problem that is clearly their responsibility.
Follow their response for more meaningless diatribe.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

[redacted] just spoke with the customer and the customer indicated he would be suing us. He has every right to do so. There is no further action or response required by us at this time.

This mirror was not knocked off by the wash. The inner glass
came out in the middle of the wash. This suggests that something was broken
before he entered. [redacted] discussed sending him to our shop to see if we could
do something for him purely out of customer service. The customer refused...

and
was only interested in going to his body shop. At that point [redacted] denied the
claim. If the customer is willing to get us an estimate from our shop
or let us order one online we can do something for him.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/04/25) */
Mr. [redacted] leaves a key piece of information out, and that is namely he was told upon calling that we DO NOT ESTIMATE one time service, and that it is a $40 minimum based on $40 per man per hour. He agreed to those terms, provided his credit...

card information, and his yard was assigned for mowing later that day. It took a 2 man crew 56 minutes, hence the $80 charge, and there was so much leaf and stick waste that it filled 3 35 gallon barrels ($2 each).
Mr. [redacted] had no problem with the service, until he received an email on Monday, April 18th, with the explanation of charges to his credit card. He then called and spoke to the co owner, [redacted], and was very abusive and demanding in his attempt to get us to change the charge. After rudely hanging up, he posted an exaggerated and untrue review on Google (see attached), and when I responded, he furthered his attack by adding your agency to his list of abusive behaviors to attempt to punish us.
Mr. [redacted] knew his grass was very tall from his comments and response on google. IT was obvious from his yard that he had not cleaned up the mess in the fall, and that his expectation was we would mow over foot tall grass filled with leaves and sticks for a minimum charge. It is absurd to think that a residential push mower would have even been able to go through this slop-it was choking out commercial mowers.
After interviewing the crew, who picked up this yard on a Friday afternoon, which happened to be payday, I am certain that they didn't waste ONE minute on Mr. [redacted]'s property, as he maintains they did. They did their job as we expect and moved on to the next assignment.
Mr. [redacted] is a bully. He knew his grass was exceptionally tall, admits to expecting to pay more for it to be mowed, and admits to agreeing to our terms, yet wants to use your agency to punish us for doing our job to the level of quality that we demand from our employees. Please do not reward Mr. [redacted] for his egregious behavior, but rather sanction him from ever complaining to the Revdex.com again as his intent is to say or do anything required to hurt a business that he is displeased with.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2016/04/27) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Response:
In the initial call I placed I gave details about the size of my lot and how long it takes me to mow, to which I was given an approximation of what I was to expect for a charge $40 or close thereto. The explaination was given to clear sticks, and like I said before there weren't many sticks (if any), and the ones that were picked up were on a dirt patch that is used for burning or temporarily collection before taking them to the back larger burn pile. There was no explaining that leaves were to be cleared (they are a natural fertilizer) or that the grass would be bagged up. That is the only explaination for the 3, 35 gallon barrel accumulation. The overall tone of the conversation was friendly and quick, but with very little information given about the service that would be performed, even though I stated I was new to trying out a lawn service.
I checked my credit card application, not e-mail, to acquire the amount for the charges although they did update within close proximity of one another. I called in at first believing that it was a double charge. Mistakes happen and I gave the benefit of the doubt to the new operator. She then explained that it was $40/hour per person, and that sticks had to be picked up, to which I responded "so it was an extra $40 to pick up sticks?" and the operator reafirmed that. I asked politely (albeit my tone was neutral, not my normal chiper/happy voice) if the charges could be adjusted to a more resonable price, to which she said that she couldn't do anything and asked if everything was ok. I said, taken back in disbelief that customer service could be that poor, "yeah... alright... not really... but ok." I waited for about 10-15 seconds for a response and got nothing. I hung up. At no point did I curse at, raise my voice to or belittle the operator.
I then posted a review on google ("https://www.google.com/#q=lawn+barber+springfield+il&lrd=0xXXXXXXe60be075d... to state my dissatisfaction of the lack of communication and the charges. Not surprisely I recieved a reply, but what was contained within in it did surprise me. That's when I learned that leaves needed to be removed, and just now (although it should've registered earlier to me) that the grass had to be bagged up and removed. Sure the price of the bag is cheap, but it takes time to fill those and all I asked for was a lawn cutting, nothing more. The leaves were removed from the driveway, the sticks were removed from the front burn area/collection area. All I wanted was to leave a review documenting my dissastisfaction with the lack of communication for charges and move on with my life.
The grass by the last time I checked it, earlier that day was maybe 10 inches, just above my ankle while wearing shoes. Maybe that should have been officially documented by either party, but I don't think either of us had the foresight that a disagreement like this would occur. There is just the one tree in the front yard, where the grass is sparse (it was a flipped house and I still haven't been able to get grass to grow properly). There aren't any trees in the back yard, but there is a burn pile where sticks are so maybe some moved a bit, but not enough to cause grief.
I don't doubt that did exactly what was expected from your point of view, and the job they did was great, but the services performed weren't explained beforehand, they weren't asked for and they weren't performed with permission. I'm sure no one from the administrative branch talked to the crew told them what I was expecting for a price because no one called me to say "hey, I know you were expecting in the ballpark of $40, but it's really going to be double. Is that okay?" I gave you my credit card and you pushed a job that perhaps you have performed so many times and explained so many times that you left out what you do or what was expected to be done to ensure a smooth mowing. I am not blaming your employees, I am blaming poor communication from the adminstration between one another and from that section down. I am positive that this has happened to others because another reviewer on google stated the same complaint in much fewer words.
For clarification a "Bully" is by google's definitions are "a person who uses strength or power to harm or intimidate those who are weaker" when used as a noun and "use superior strength or influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force him or her to do what one wants." when used as a verb. You have used emotionally charged adjectives to describe how you are not to blame and to call me names ("bully" and "abusive"), and now to try and silence me from any possible future claims by means of sanction. Who is in a position to be a bully; someone who wanted to try out a new service out of convience, who is trying to voice a complaint or a much larger organized structure that attempts to minimize or erase any trace of wrongdoing?
