To Whom It May Concern, My name is Joseph D [redacted] and, I am the service director here at Springfield MitsubishiI am writing in response to complaint number [redacted] In this complaint, the customer states that we replaced a battery three days after he purchased his [redacted] This statement is partially correctThe battery was replaced one week after he purchased the vehicle.After one month of owning the vehicle, the customer called letting me know that the vehicle started smoking and shut down while drivingI had the vehicle towed to usUpon arrival, I checked the oil level and found no oil registering on the dip stickWhen I spoke with the customer, he told me that - the oil light had been flickering on and off for a week before the incidentOnce the vehicle was diagnosed, the warranty company - sent an adjuster to view the vehicle and our notesThe warranty company then informed us of the vehicle not being covered due to lack of lubricationOne of the oil cooler hosesruptured causing the engine oil to leakSpringfield Mitsubishi has decided to replace the engine for the customer after the vehicle was driven with a flickering oil light for a week before the engine seized.Thank YouJoseph D Service Director

To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Joseph D[redacted] and, I am the service director here at Springfield Mitsubishi. I am writing in response to complaint number [redacted]. In this complaint, the customer states that we replaced a battery three days after he purchased his 2005 [redacted]....

This statement is partially correct. The battery was replaced one week after he purchased the vehicle.After one month of owning the vehicle, the customer called letting me know that the vehicle started smoking and shut down while driving. I had the vehicle towed to us. Upon arrival, I checked the oil level and found no oil registering on the dip stick. When I spoke with the customer, he told me that - the oil light had been flickering on and off for a week before the incident.
Once the vehicle was diagnosed, the warranty company - sent an adjuster to view the vehicle and our notes. The warranty company then informed us of the vehicle not being covered due to lack of lubrication. One of the oil cooler hosesruptured causing the engine oil to leak. Springfield Mitsubishi has decided to replace the engine for the customer after the vehicle was driven with a flickering oil light for a week before the engine seized.Thank YouJoseph D
