My wife and I stopped by the nursery because it was suggested from a family member that they had been in business for many years and could offer us advice on the project we were working on. We were being assisted by a very knowledgeable Latino man explaining to us the various types of plants that could work in our project. Another gentleman approached and told us the man had other chores to do and he could not have all of the mans time spent just helping us. If we knew what plants we needed they would be happy to help us load them but if we were seeking advice we would need to make an appointment and return at another time. I was shocked by the nature of this as I thought being a customer his job was to satisfy my needs. We purchased a few plants and left. Continues to [redacted] to finish buying the plants we needed for our project.
While our plants were being loaded, I asked the young man if he was legal in the States. He stated he did not have a Social Security card but didn't need one as he only worked for cash. This statement led me to believe he was not legal but was working for the nursery and being paid cash.
This left me with another negative experience. Based on this one visit, I probably will not return to Springfield nursery for business.
