WORST experience with an ophthalmologist I've EVER hadI would absolutely tell anyone inquiring about Springfield Optometric Associates to RUN, not walk away from this place! At least from DrFleisher! He has a flat personality, is belittling, condescending, impatient, and unappreciativeAfter shopping around I was told a contacts apptwith SpfldOptometric would be $This was much cheaper than the $115-$other places were quoting me so I made an apptWhen I got there the staff was very friendly and helpful, however I thought it was a little odd that my payment wasn't taken when I checked inI was told "depending on what service I needed it may be a little more"When I was situated in the office chair and Fleisher walked in the room, (my first ever apptwith him)- he didn't even shake my hand or introduce himselfTalk about unprofessional! He got a phone call while in the room with me (full blown ringer)didn't even say "excuse me"- took the call and left the roomcame back...then when he was explaining something to me very dry and fast in ophthalmologist lingo, I replied with a question because I wasn't really understanding and needed a little more clarification (I don't do this all day, every day- like him)He replied "Were you not listening?!" in a tone of voice that was very demeaning and hurtful- I was treated like an inferior, not a patient who chose to give him my business out of all the other ophthalmologist offices out there! His rudeness caught me off guard and led to tears forming in my eyes, to which he commented "Are your eyes always this red, or just today?"- He was clueless! My eyes were perfectly fine when I first walked in! Then he got another phone call (full blown ringer) while in the middle of my eye exam, (the machine was literally pushed up to my face) and, surprise surprise- once again, left the room with me sitting there baffledSomehow when I was checking out from this horrible experience the total came to $to which I was about to question (it was supposed to be $or a LITTLE more, not $more!) with tears still forming in my eyes -when Fleisher was lingering around and shot me a dirty lookI couldn't even get my question out-because I didn't want to actually cry- just handed the receptionist my card (I still don't know why the charge was so high) and I had to tell her I'd call to schedule the follow up because I was literally about to cry (How embarrassing!)- I left balling my eyes outHe treats his staff with NO respect, patients with NO respectI have no idea how he is still in business! AVOID HIM at all costsDrGreene however is great! (I had my follow up with him)I was informed the charge was so high because "changes were made" (Fleisher suggested/ pushed me to try daily contacts instead of biweekly onesI said sure, and this is what caused the price to flare up)I truly feel sorry for the overworked, probably under paid employees who have to deal with this oblivious and mean man daily

Improper filing of claims for visits to the eye dr. which in turn overcharged us and we have waited over three months for reimbursement for same. Initially, the drs. office had us as a 'self' pay when we specifically told them we had Blue Cross and Blue Shield for insurance. The office stated they would file our claims for us with BCBS however, charged us a full amt. for the visit. They did this again, and on the third visit, we explained they were not to continue to charge us the full amount per visit as we had spoken with BCBS and were to be charged the amount agreed upon by the drs. office and BCBS (which was substantially less than their full visit charge). They were also told they had not put in the claims with BCBS for the second visit (and subsequently the third visit as well) and that we'd met our deductible....we'd now overpaid numerous times and were owed money. BCBS was contacted several times; they in turn spoke with the drs. office explaining the agreed upon contracted policy and were told to reimburse us a.s.a.p. It is now three months later, we've spoken to the [redacted]. personally, and keep getting assurred the 'check is in the mail' but it has not yet been received! I am thoroughly disgusted with the 'process' or lack thereof in obtaining what is rightfully mine.Desired SettlementWe are owed the balance of what SHOULD have been charged for our three visits vs. what WAS charged for those visits and we wish to be reimbursed immediately. I do not wish to continue to hear that they will send us a check, the check is in the mail, or any other excuse. I am happy to physically go to their office to pick up my reimbursement should that be the way to obtain the monies owed me! I amowed $159.00....not an exhorbitant amount by any stretch.Business' Initial Response We have refunded [redacted] the full amount of $159.00 although we do not feel it was our error. [redacted] had come to our practice for a medical eye appointment. When we called BCBS to verify his insurance, they told us he had a $1,215.00 deductible for medical visits. They do not inform us if the deductible has been met so we informrd the patient he must pay out-of-pocket.The first visit was in April and insurance companies have 90 days to send an EOB or reimbursement. So, it was sometime in June that we received notification from BCBS that they were paying a small portion minus the patients co-pay. We had to wait for the final notification for the third visit until we had an exact amount to be reimbursed to the patient. The only winner in this situation is BCBS because the patient was upset and we lost money with their $26.00 and $4.29 reimbursement.Sincerely,[redacted]Consumer's Final Response Hello [redacted]...I contacted BCBS again this morning and they in turn contacted the Drs. office AGAIN for me...I physically went to the Drs. office and brought my credit card with so they could credit my account. At this point, I am still not considering this 'closed' as I must wait to be certain the credit goes through (long story) but I will consider our dealings as completed and should I require further assistance I will contact you again. Thank you for looking into this matter for [redacted]
