In response to the complaint from Ms [redacted],
     When she came into our office, she was the person with the attitude. She was told that we require 4 most recent paycheck stubs from every person that applies. That allows us to get a more accurate estimate income for...

the individual. When she was told this, she snorted and left, but took the application with her. She returned later and had 1 paycheck stub. The leasing agent sent her to my office. When she told me she only had 1 check stub because she had just started her job, I told her that she could supply me with a letter- on a company letterhead- stating her hire date and salary. I did look at the check stub and saw that she did not qualify for a two bedroom apartment. I told her this and she said that Odessa Housing Authority had told her that she could lease a one bedroom for her and her 9 yr old son. She went outside and was on her phone. Later in the day, I did receive the fax. I had sent verification of rental history to Arbor Oaks Apartments they told me that she had continuous lease violations and had been given a letter of non-renewal by their office. I called to see what they meant by continuous lease violations and was told that she had 4 children and a man living with her. I was also informed by the manager that she had a lot of foot traffic in and out of her apartment and that the children were outdoors frequently with no adult supervision. I called her cell phone and left her a short message that I was sorry, but her application had been denied. I then contacted [redacted] at the Odessa Housing Authority and she looked at the file and told me that she only had 1 child listed with them and that the child is a daughter. She had listed 1 child on her application here as a 9-yr old son. She had put his SS# on the application and I even had her mark through it with permanent marker so that no one could read it. She called me back in between these calls and wanted to know why her application had been denied. I told her about all of the violations and that I was told she had 4 children and not only one as she had listed on her application. She started yelling into the phone and informed me that she does have more kids, but only one that lives with her. I told her that I have to go on her history. When she continued with the rude behavior I said thank you and gently hung up the phone. She immediately called back and I already had another man in my office. I told my assistant that I did not need to speak with her again. She promptly told my assistant that if I didn't get on the phone- she would come here to my office. I told my assistant that she was welcome to do so. My assistant was afraid to leave and go to lunch because the woman sounded very angry on the phone. I told her to go eat, and I would handle the situation if it arose. Ms. [redacted] did call back later and she said that she was sorry for having a bad attitude with me. She informed me that this apartment was the only hope for her and her son. I again told her that her application had been denied. She was very quiet and I didn't hear her say a word. I said Thank You and hung up the phone again.  I didn't hear from Ms. [redacted] again until this complaint was filed. The manager from Arbor Oaks did call back and said that she was new and that after she had looked at the violations- most were from when her sister was living with her. I did tell this manager and [redacted] from OHA that Ms. [redacted] did have a bad attitude with me. I don't take verbal abuse from my children and refuse to take it from a stranger. I had a call later in the day from the property in Midland and the assistant there was laughing at me when I answered the phone and wanted to know who I had "pissed off". Ms [redacted] had called there and wanted the owner's phone number. She was told that the reason the owner has managers on the properties is to deal with all situations and that she is not allowed to give his number to anyone. I deal with people on a daily basis and I do not ever yell at anyone. I am very even tempered and through the grace of God, I try to be nice and understanding to all who cross my path.

I am rejecting this response because: I never once had a attitude with [redacted]. From the moment I walked in there , Her and her assistant was throwing my application back at me speaking out of tone. I respect my Elders always have always will because I was taught better than that within my family. And for her to Accuse me of lying is not right. The day [redacted] called her and let her know that she was referring a client over to their complex , [redacted] asked me why did it say my 12yrs old daughter and not my 9years old son. I told her my original caseworker [redacted] must have put in the info wrong. So that info can be proved by [redacted] that that was not a lie. And if she had a client in her office less than a minute after her hanging up in my face and me calling right back , how was it that I heard her yelling across the room to her assistant before her assistant hung up in my face ?? How respectful is that to the man sitting in her office ? Yes I did call and apologize cause my landlord at arbor oaks said that she said I had a attitude . When I called her back I told her " I'm calling to apologize to you being a woman if you felt I had an attitude, and yes she was the last hope of finding a place for myself and my son. Because of the economy it is difficult to find places at a reasonable price. It isn't my fault they put in my information wrong at the housing authority . I Know who was going to live with me in my dwelling. And my case worker told me that just because they write up a lease violations . there's nothing they can do because they are not provable. Its was many times I went to dispute the violations. But My complaint is how rude their Staff is and how she just accused me of lying when I know I told the truth on my application. I stayed at my apartment for a whole year and completed my lease both times. I Never told her assistant that I was coming up there I simply asked her assistant for their CORPORATE number to file a complaint cause they were rude. So I called my landlord at arbor Oaks and she the one told me to call the owner Mr. [redacted]. And her saying I was yelling in the phone is not true at all. All the reviews on Springwood apt. Will tell the truth that I'm not the only one that say they are rude. I never raised my voice at her nor her assistant. I have a mother and grandmothers. I'm very respectful to my elders why would I Not be respectful to a elderly stranger?
