I am writing regarding the complaint of [redacted] and [redacted] We have responded to them by email and copied our franchise headquarters There is some confusion as to the facts According to our records the guests checked into our motel at10:24pm and they returned to the front desk around 2am complaining of bugs Our clerk immediately offered to go to their room so they could show him the bugsThey walked out without even leaving the room keysAfter they left he checked the room and found no bugs The next morning the maintenance department searched the room and found no bugs of any sort The room was rented the following night after the [redacted] left, and has been regularly rented since then with no complaints If there were so many bed bugs they were crawling up walls, no one could stay in that room Shortly after [redacted] left, we had our routine scheduled pest inspection as per industry standards, which revealed no bed bugs or any other type of bug or pest was found at our property We have forwarded a copy of this inspection to our franchise headquarters since the guest made a complaint to WyndhamOrdinarily when a room is used, even if it is only the bathroom, and no bugs were found, we ordinarly would charge the guest in full as we did in this case since we could not rent a used roomHowever in the spirit of hospitality we have offered this guest a % refund since they did leave at 2am, though they would not show the desk clerk the bugs and left without returning the room keys

I am writing regarding the complaint *** ** *** made with the Revdex.com. She has already received a complete refund for the first night she stayed with us, half paid by us and half paid by Brand headquarters from our franchise. The second night we determined to be
nonrefundable since this guest could have left if she was unhappy with our property. Incidently our brand franchise headquarters agreed on that issue and did not offer the guest anything for the second night.Her excuse that she wanted to attend the auto show and could not find another hotel our national franchise found to be insufficient. We cannot be expected to provide free lodging because this guest is unhappy with our property. We would have gladly refunded her money had she chosen not to stay with usObviously we were very busy the weekend of the auto show and had no other complaints. The majority of our guests like our property and enjoy their stay.We are a franchise hotel, and we work hard to maintain the highest standards. Please remember our National brand headquarters only paid half of the first night, and we paid half, in the spirit of hospitality to make an effort to satisfy this guest. No one can stay at a property for two nights and claim it was awful, and magically get a free stay. Our property is not awful. And if this guest felt it was that bad she should have left. She should not have used our room, enjoyed our property during a crowded weekend, and then expect that she can make a complaint and get a refund for all the days of her stay.If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me at ***

I am rejecting this response because:
The night attendent did NOT offer to go to the room to see the bed bug we saw crawling on the wall We left because we did not want our possessions contaminated by bed bugs We ended up staying at a higher priced motel, because it was now Saturday morning and weekend rates applied..We spent less than a half hour in the room because we were out shopping for replacement essentials after we were robbed of our suitcases in Philadelphia The room was left in immaculate condition and our credit card charges should have been returned in full The motel is being exceptionally greedy in holding our credit card charges and refusing to give us a refund greater than fifty percent If the Days Inn personnel examined the room Saturday morning they would have seen that we did not use the room in the sense Their holding on to the room charge is a fraud, since we did not get a clean sanitary bed bug free room that we expected at our check-in We consider the Days Inn at Freehold as an undesirable d destination for travelers and their management as only interested is squeezing money out of the facility, rather than providing a clean facility for travelers

[redacted] We have investigated this case fully.  First our records indicate this guest did not checkout.  Simply waving to...

maid does not consisit of checking out.  Had she actually checked out early at the front desk she would have had to sign a new folio with a changed amount, all financial adjustments would have been made at that time, and she would have received a receipt showing a charge for a lesser amount.  She also did not speak to the same person each time.  Nevertheless the manager did feel bad for Ms. [redacted]'s sad loss and decided in the spirit of hospitality to refund her the four days she claims she did not stay.  That refund was already processed.  She was only charged for the one night she did stay at our property.  Incidently her arrival date was June 13th not June 18th.If for any reason she has not received the refund for the four nights please request her to contact us at 732-462-3450 Days Inn Freehold.Best regards,DKGuest Relations Days Inn Freehold New Jersey
