Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because Gary's information is inaccurate Attached is the rental agreement as stated on the Spruce Moose Chalet website (http://www.alaskavacationchalets.com/p/rental-agreement.html) As per the policy on cancellations, there is nothing that indicates that not making a second payment in full negates the 10% cancellation fee or the reimbursement for anything he can rebook (see below) CANCELLATIONS – A 10% cancellation fee will be charged for cancellations days or more before arrivalAfter days the full rental is due summer/days winter.We will refund anything that we are able to rebookCancellation under these parameters or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent or depositWE HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU PURCHASE TRIP INSURANCE TO COVER YOUR CONTINGENCIES.It explicitly says in his rental agreement that he reimburses anything he can rebookBecause we booked on ***, I tracked the booking of the site after we cancelled and waited to touched base with Gary until after it was clear he had rebooked the two chaletsI have tried to contact Gary directly multiple times, but the phone number that he has given to [redacted] is answered by a voicemail that states not to leave messagesObviously no one answers that phone I also do not have a direct email for Gary, and have had to correspond through an indirect process via ***All of my interactions with Gary have been difficult -- and I have been extremely apologetic My first correspondence with him re: cancellation on April 27th is at the bottom of this message Very unfortunately, we had to cancel reservationGary has charged us $and $for the initial deposit As per the contract, because it rebooked, we are entitled the refund of our deposit minus 10% cancellation fee We understand the terms of the contract, and that this is a hardship for Gary We are asking for the refund as outlined in his policy online ($1,449.20)---------------------------------------------------------------------... I did get your message -- and sorry for the delay in getting you the second depositWe have been waiting on some news but as per life circumstances we will be canceling the trip after allSo, if the place gets rebooked for those dates we will see a full refund? Greetings,Received a letter from you all indicating you all are entertaining a complaint from a person who broke a legal rental contract they made with usIf you are going to continue to enable this person, you should probably first ask to see the contract. They were contacted for weeks
after failing to make their final payment and only called when we indicated we were cancelling their TWO reservationsOnly then did *** call - and then only wanting to know how they could get their 50% payment backShe did not apologize, she did not acknowledge she had broken the contract, and thus was not entitled to any reimbursementI told *** what she needed to reinstate the broken contract in order to have it's conditions apply- which she never didThus the contract was broken by *** and remains void.Our rental agreement advises three times for renters to buy travel insuranceIf *** had done this -and she had an allowable cancellation reason -she would have received back from the insurance company the full amount - even the 10% cancellation fee.WE always fulfill our end of the rental agreements for those who fulfill their end.*** left us a voice mail indicating she was contacting her lawyerI e-mailed her back and told her to make sure they had a copy of the rental agreement and the e-mail trail before they contacted me.I would advise you all to have the same if you are going to continue to support her harassing effortsIt seems to me you need to do more work before you entertain complaints.We are not a member of the Revdex.com, and you all are not any intermediary that I have agreed to use and will waste no further time on this.Sincerely,Gary S***

After 90 days the full rental is due summer/30 days winter.We will refund anything that we are able to rebook.
