I was on the internet on my home computer and received a pop up that stated my computer was infected with a worm/virus and needed to call: 855-797-to report error the code to the IT rep I Called the number and was told my computer was infected with "koopface" worm/virus and needed to be removed immediately to protect my personal and financial information The technicians proceeded to remotely run scans and then after minutes called back from number: 203-378-stating the worm/virus had been removed and there was no longer a threat to my network at home They said they could protect my network by purchasing their service for $ After hanging up with the technician, I googled the company, Spurt Tech

Sold anti-theft computer protection that is false
This company claims to be affiliated with Microsoft; (They are not) This company claims to do on-line services on your computer that eliminate theft of personal data They claim that they are providing services above and beyond what Kapersky or MacKeeper are already providing, if you have those installed on your computer They claim that while your computer might be 'safe', the 'network' isn't They claim to 'monitor' your system and provide services that keep Trojans, malware, and viruses from your computer Since I already have MacKeeper which does all those things, I asked them why I needed their services above what I already had and they gave me a long answer that I recorded, and it checked out to be information They later called me and tried to solicit close to $from me for 'extra protection' from my network I have a personal computer and I am not on a 'network' I am cabled into my router and have a good

I was working on my computer and suddenly I was interrupted, it stopped working, and pop up came up: Apple Customer Service with the telephone# I have Apple and called They told me that something was wrong and they would fix it The technicians processed remotely run scan I talked about to people and one of them asked me "how old are you?"
