Square 1 Auto Sales Reviews (%countItem)

I had problems as soon as I bought it, they had to get me a keyless fob because they had no key to the door, they had to pry off the lock gass cap because they didnt have a key. didnt replace ithe gas cap.drove it 40 miles it ran hot and I have spent over $300 trying to fix it no luck. they didnt tell me of any issues at the time I bought it.these people sells lemons buyer beware

I purchased a 2016 Chrysler 200 at 102,000 miles from this dealer on April 16, 2020. I put down $800. The vehicle's principal balance came out to be a little over $10,000. I don't have the best credit and needed a vehicle ASAP, as I am a single parent with a full time job. I don't know much about numbers when it comes to car purchases. The interest rate came out to be 28%. By the end of the loan, I would've paid almost $6,000 in interest. Due to the COVID-19, my employer informed my hours will either be cut or the office may temporarily close. This was after I already purchased the vehicle. Now, I'm looking at possibly not being able to make the payments on the vehicle. My first payment was scheduled for May 1st, $380/month. I called Rebecca *** (account manager) and explained my situation and told her I may have to return the vehicle. She stated I could get a letter from my employer explaining my situation so that she could possibly allow me to make a late payment without them picking up the vehicle. However, I didn't want to put myself in a situation where I fall behind this early on and get too far behind that I can't afford the catch up. This is what lead to my father and my co-worker reviewing the contract to see what I could do and they noticed discrepancies in the contract. It appears I was overcharged, there was no pay off amount listed, and if I'm not mistaking, they listed my $800 down payment as being financed but I paid that down payment with my debit card and I have the receipt. So, my dad told me to take the vehicle back advising by the time I'm done paying for the vehicle, it wouldn't be worth it. I arranged with Rebecca to surrender the vehicle on April 22, 2020. She told me there is no charge to return the vehicle, I don't get the $800 back, and it may go on my credit as a repossession. I asked her if I could pay a fee for the 6 days I had the vehicle but she said no. I asked her for documentation showing I released the vehicle back to them on April 22. She refused.
Product_Or_Service: 2016 Chrysler 200

Desired Outcome

Correction to a credit report If indeed they listed my $800 down payment as being financed, I would definitely like to get my $800 back. If my co-worker saw this in error and it was included in my balance, then I understand. I do not agree with this vehicle going on my credit when they attempt to do so.

Square 1 Auto Sales Response • Jun 04, 2020

we have been closed due to COVID19...this is our response. Charity, after calling your account manager you emailed your sales person and told her you no longer wanted your vehicle because your father had bought you an additional vehicle. Your account manager did offer to help you during these hard times, however you insisted on turning the car in regardless of consequence. Our sales staff thoroughly explains each page of the sales contract during the sale. On the first page of your finance contract all the information for your down payment, payment frequency and total price is listed. It is unfortunate that you were unhappy with your vehicle purchase however you signed a contract to purchase a vehicle and drove it until your father purchased you another vehicle. Unfortunately, since you returned your vehicle there is nothing further, we can do to help you.
