Square Fabrication, Inc

Review: [redacted] of Square Fabrication, Inc was first contacted by my business, [redacted], on September **, 2014 to build a desk for one of our new martial arts locations. [redacted] was found on recommendation of one of my employees who had worked with him in the past. After this initial correspondence, one of [redacted]'s employees did a site visit on 9/**/14, and a rate of $1820 was agreed upon to design and build the desk. We ordered the supplies he needed, including a television for $1422.77, and he confirmed that they arrived at his shop on 10/*/14. When we reached back out to [redacted] on 10/**/14 for an update on the progress of the desk, he assured us that it would be completed within a few days time. Within the next week, [redacted] said his business was struggling and he was having trouble finishing the job. We then asked if he would be able to complete the desk if given an extra month, and on 10/**/14 he confirmed that would be possible. When we hadn't heard from him, we tried contacting him for an update on: 12/**/14, 12/**/14, 12/**/14, 1/**/15, 1/**/15, 2/*/15, 2/*/15. On 2/*/15, he finally responded to our emails, saying his business was struggling and his landlord had scrapped the desk. He offered to reimburse the payments we had made him, including the television, totaling $3242.77. On 2/*/15, we gave him the address for where he could send the check. On 2/**/15, after not hearing back from [redacted], we contacted again to offer a payment plan for reimbursement. On 2/**/15, we contacted again, asking for some form of communication back. Since then, [redacted] has closed his shop, moved, changed his phone number, and stopped all form of correspondence. He was paid $1820 and had us order a television for $1422.77 that was never returned. He has made no effort toward returning the payment or television. None of the agreed upon work was completed, and he is no longer communicating with our company.Desired Settlement: We would like for [redacted] to reimburse both the payment of $1820 and the price of the television purchased, $1422.77, totaling $3242.77. He did not complete the work we paid him for, and has since disappeared to avoid reimbursement.
