SRT Construction Reviews (4)

I hired SRT Construction to pave my driveway. The driveway was not properly installed and the asphalt comes off and softens in warmer temperatures. In October of 2013 I hired S.R.T. Landscape Construction to pave the driveway and rebuild the front stairs and walkway at my residence located in Northborough MA. [redacted] from SRT Construction explained the process and the materials that would be used to complete the project. One of my concerns was how long the project would take to complete. Our neighborhood is popular on Halloween and we usually get over one hundred visitors on that night. It was important to have the project completed by Halloween for safety reasons. [redacted] insured me the entire project would be complete within five to seven days, well before Halloween night. [redacted] presented me with a contract which I reviewed and signed. They began working on October 9th 2013 and did not finish until November 15th 2013; the work took them approximately six weeks to complete, much longer than the five to seven day estimate that was given when I signed the contract.Other driveway re-pavement jobs in my neighborhood have been completed in one day. It took S.R.T Landscape Construction several days just to complete repaving the driveway, after the old driveway was removed. A couple of issues I took note of was the roller they were using was rented and kept breaking down. I do not know if the asphalt was properly rolled and or compacted enough. They also only had one small truck to transport the asphalt from the asphalt plant to my house, so they had to make several trips over the few days it took them to complete repaving. I'm not sure if the small quantities of asphalt being transported to my house were already cooled down by the time it reached my house, impeding the rolling/compacting process. I approached [redacted] with my concerns and he insured me he has done pavement jobs for years and I have nothing to worry about. After the work was complete and we stayed off the driveway for the recommended four day period I noticed that the asphalt never really cured and was soft and would especially soften up when the temperature became warmer. Tire marks are left in the asphalt when a car is parked in the driveway and the asphalt will be torn up by the front tires if someone turns the steering wheel while in the driveway. My [redacted] laid her bike down on the driveway and the pedal sunk into the asphalt. Ruts in the asphalt are being created at the entrance of the garage from driving the car into the garage. When it rains the water that drips off the roof is eroding the asphalt. During the summer when the temperature was warmer I could actually press my thumb into the asphalt. It has been less than a year since the work was compete and would expect a driveway after being repaved to last maybe fifteen or twenty years. At this rate I do not believe the driveway will last five years. I do not believe that the driveway asphalt was properly installed by S.R.T Landscape Construction and/or the asphalt used was faulty.I reached out to [redacted] at SRT Construction and he said he would look into it, maybe contact the asphalt company to see what the problem may have been. Regardless, he said he would be in touch and solve the issue. I have not heard from [redacted] since. I have made several attempts to reach [redacted] and left messages but he has not returned my calls in over two months. The contract I signed said he guaranteed his work for three years.Desired SettlementI feel to correct the problem the driveway needs to be taken up and replaced. Based on my previous experience, I do not feel that S.R.T. Landscape Construction is equipped to perform the work. I am seeking a refund in the amount of $3,800.00, which is the price S.R.T. Landscape Construction charged me to repave the driveway.

Fence installation left uncompleted - contractor unresponsive. We hired SRT construction to complete the installation of a black vinyl fence and gate along the hillside of the recently installed backyard (also completed by SRT).We agreed to total payment of $800 and have a signed contract. Contractor began work in Mid July - installed poles for fence. Once poles were installed a payment of $600 cash was made on July 23rd. The contractor has not returned to complete the work and has been unresponsive through phone calls. Since the install some of the poles have loosened and are no longer aligned or in ground properly. There is no chain link installed and the gate was never installed as per agreement.Desired SettlementWe are asking for a full refund of our $600 and/or satisfactory completion in a timely manner.

Hired SRT in June of 2013 to remove walls and stairs, re-build using natural stone then grade, Jul of 2014 still not complete.SRT began the project the end of Jul 2013. Removed back wall and two small trees. Removed perimeter fence then left project. Have had contact with owner on various dates. Told we would have job complete within 8 weeks of starting job. Continue to get rolling dates from owner each time contacted. Total project was [redacted] dollars. Have paid SRT [redacted] of the money but have only seen about [redacted] worth of work. Entire job was to remove existing cinder block walls (crumbling)and front stairs. Remove rear wall and fence. Install new walls in back yard(back would have two walls with a small terrace in between them), side yard (with 4 steps going up) and front yard (taken all the way to the property line) and new front stairs (about 12). Once the walls were complete, a hot tub platform would be constructed in the back yard, an irrigation system installed, the yard sodded and a new composite perimeter fence would be erected. To date, we have had the old walls removed, and dirt shifted in the back yard. Was told that SRT would bring in equipment and complete the project in 6-8 weeks, no problem. After beginning the work, everything was done by hand and time ticked by. Went into the winter with the promise that this would be the first job in the spring. Here it is the end of July and we are still chasing this project. Our yard is not functional and dangerous for our young children. We received delivery of a backhoe in early July in which the owner of the company arrived a few days later and moved some of the dirt to set-up landings for stone delivery then didn't return again. When contacting the company, we were told to expect delivery of stone on July 21st or 22nd. Instead, on July 22nd a third party arrived to remove the backhoe. Today is July 23rd and still no delivery. All contact with SRT goes direct to voicemail and is not returned.Desired SettlementWe would like to have the complete job hired for completed before the end of September of 2014 or a refund of [redacted] dollars.

SRTLandscape promised to put in a new set of front steps. The job took 3times longer and is still INCOMPLETE.Cannot putup with repeated false promiseSRTConstruction, [redacted], [redacted]Tel# [redacted]Contract date: May 31, 2013.conditional Paid in full June 21, 2013.amount paid $ 2500.00Contact is [redacted], [redacted], [redacted].Issue is that the steps have been left unusable, as they have not been acid washed as promised. They are make the entrance of the home look dirty. The stains and grout needs to be removed, and touch up to make the job look professional and new.I have called them every week to which they have promised to get the job done. They have lied to me and have not completed the job.Original job was to be completed in 4days, which lasted for 4 weeks. Then it was noticed that they had severed my sprinkler system hose which they fixed. The steps have been installed but washing them was to be done after a week of settling. That was to be done by June 27 2013. It is now Aug 7, 2013 and still they have not completed the job.I need to be pay some one else to complete this part of the job since they are not doing it.Desired SettlementComplete the acid wash or pay for somebody else to complete it.Business' Initial Response Good day we have long sence fixed the pblms at his house he informed us he was going to withdraw his complant we performed all the repairs he wanted and told us he was happy and satisfied please contact [redacted] and speak to him.... thank you [redacted]
