The week of November 4, 2019 we had no heat working in our home. I called around and got a service appointment scheduled with a company that I had used once previously. On Novemeber 7, *** from SS3 Mechanical showed up at 4 pm for our appointment. He diagnosed the problem, but was unable to provide me prices on how to repair the problem, as he said the supply houses close by 4:30. He promised that he would get me the information the very next day 11/8.
Not only did we get no phone call on 11/8, nor 11/11, 11/12, or today 11/13. He took a part with him that was what he needed to get a price for. I have called the company several times, to no avail in getting an answer. I paid $87.50 for a service call, and still don’t have the problem permanently solved and he has taken a part from my home, tat I now need back in order to find someone else who can do the job.
On November 7th at 4pm *** was on site to diagnose a no heat service call for Mr. and Mrs.. He diagnosed a defective "add a wire" device. He rewired the thermostat so that Mr. and Mrs. would have heat while the technician researched various options for a more reliable repair instead of simply installing another ad a wire device. Add a wire devices have been proven to be unreliable and problematic across the HVAC industry. Our lead service technician (Brian) called and spoke with Mr. on Wednesday the 13th and provided him with several options for repair which were all declined. *** also returned the defective part and handed it directly to Mrs. on November 13th at around 11am.
While I understand the level of frustration with the time it took to research the various options, our technician did provide heat, in a no heat situation. We would be more than happy to complete any of the quoted repairs at the quoted prices, or simply refund the service call fee of $87.50.
