Mr [redacted] alleges that the spacing of the wheel was incorrect, causing his rear drive belt to break In pictures that Mr [redacted] furnished to us on Nov30th, 2016, it clearly shows this was not the case as the rear pulley shows no evidence of wear to one side or the other Also the belt has a clean break across the width of the belt instead of being shredded which would have been the case had it been installed improperly and ran for miles I suspect the pulley and the belt was the original on this Harley with miles on it I suspect the break was due to aging or some debris that got between the belt and pulley

Simply put, the evidence that the belt broke because of work done at our facility, was not borne out by the pictures. There was No evidence that the belt was running misaligned for 200 miles. The belt was no doubt the original belt since 1992 and the break in the belt was consistent with one   24 years old. Dell

"Simply put, the evidence that the belt broke because of work done at our facility, was not borne out by the pictures."There was ample evidence that the work done at St Croix was incorrect.Pictures were taken by Wausau Harley staff.Wausau Harley staff techs determined immediately that the tire was incorrectly re-installed.  There was/is no doubt that the wrong spacers were used.Wausau Harley staff techs determined collectively and definitively that this was the cause of the broken belt.  This was not something that I would have been able to dream up by myself.  They even contacted Corporate customer care on my behalf to attempt to get assistance with the repair.Wausau Harley staff communicated this to St Croix Harley staff, with the hope that St Croix would stand behind their work...plain and simple, they did not then and still refuse to admit they did anything wrong.  Even told me that it was MY fault.St Croix wants to put the focus on the bike's age, maintenance and mileage when they know that these belts routinely last over 100,000 miles.  This bike was neither mistreated nor neglected, and still gets positive comments about its condition and age.Simply put, there is ample evidence that St Croix Harley does not and will not stand behind their work, and this is the most unfortunate result from this entire mess.  Not even an acknowledgement or apology...and here we are, almost 9 months later, still pointing fingers.

There was no offer to resolve.  St Croix Harley has continued to deny any responsibility even though another certified Harley dealership said that they were definitely at fault.  This is just another attempt at pointing the blame somewhere besides their own shop.  Pathetic
