St Croix Valley Memorial Hosp

I took my 2 1/2 year old daughter to the Frederic branch 8/1 for a low grade fever and spots that looked like hives. She had gotten a tick bite about a month before. We thought she might have Lyme's disease and took her in to be tested. The doctor, [redacted], did a blood test but said she was pretty sure it was Lyme's but she refused to start my daughter on antibiotics until she was sure. She also said it could be allergies and to start her on Benadryl and if it wasn't Lyme's to keep giving her Benadryl until the rash went away. She said the clinic would call with the results as soon as they were in. Our discharge papers said the same thing. We didn't get a phone call on 8/1, in fact the doctor told us we wouldn't probably get a phone call until the next day. My husband called the St. Croix branch on 8/2 and he was told that our daughter tested positive for Lyme's yesterday and that her prescription had been filled before we even left the clinic the day before "per doctors notes" in her file and the tech told us that there was no mention to call us and notify us of her lab results. That is not what the doctor physically told us and that is not what was written on her discharge papers. This is very concerning to me since our daughter was obviously sick and the doctor didn't seem to care very much about my daughters well being.
