St. John's Heating & Air Reviews (1)

A Saturday afternoon burnout of a critical part on our trusty-but-old heat pump should have yielded a far worse experience than the one we had, but that's probably because I called [redacted]'s Heating and Air instead of someone else.
I got a call back within 10 minutes of leaving my contact information with their answering service, and the service technician [redacted] was very professional. He gave me a couple of service options to choose from and was up front about the slightly higher weekend service call fee. Like most folks, I was happy to pay a premium to have someone come out on a Saturday, especially given the 97 degree heat outside! We were not looking forward to waiting until Monday. [redacted] gave me a time estimate for his arrival (he beat the estimate by 30 minutes), and got to work immediately when he arrived.
The part was a pretty common one, and luckily the problem hadn't cascaded into more problems (why don't these systems have fail-safes, anyway?**) before he got there. He had the equivalent part on the truck, and within an hour we were cooling again and back in business! All together, it was LESS THAN 3 HOURS from call-out to a clean, digital invoice that had the EXACT cost that Derek quoted at the beginning of the repair. He left no trace of his work, except for the happy customers he left behind when he (hopefully) headed home after a quick chat about the business history.
I will whole-heartedly and unequivocally recommend St. John's Heating and Air to anyone in the Chattanooga area, and will be engaging them soon to replace my tired unit with something more efficient and modern. It's a family business that has a great legacy of service and honesty to look forward to continuing in the years to come. Thanks!
**a word to the wise, as told to me by [redacted] of St. John's Heating and Air: if you experience system troubles and need service to your unit(s), turn them COMPLETELY OFF until a service tech like [redacted] arrives to investigate and repair. Certain units will attempt to continue to run various components of the system, and may burn out motors that shouldn't be running if other parts aren't at 100% operation. This may save you money on future repairs also, since parts will fail more quickly after they've been subject to unusual stress.
