The following is a response to allegations made in the consumer complaint, case #***:The complainant, Ms*** ***, attended four weeks of classes beginning on August 29, The 2013-College Catalog, and page two of the Enrollment Agreement signed by Ms*** on September 5,
clearly states:"For a student withdrawing/terminating after the first week of classes, but within the first twenty-five (25) percent of the semester, the tuition charges made by the College to the student shall net exceed twenty-five percent of the contract price of the semester."Ms*** was charged tuition according to the above stated policyBecause the student withdrew from school prior to the student loan disbursement period, no student loans were received by the CollegeThe student is therefore responsible for paying the College directlyThe student received a full credit amount of $for the uniforms, and a textbook credit amounting to $for the textbooks not receivedThe student was charged $for the textbook of the course she attended for four weeksMs*** has a balance for attending our College totaling $Additional interest may be charged by the Collection AgencyThere is no additional student loan owed to StLouis College of Health CareersMs*** does have a student loan owed to her previous CollegeOur Financial Aid Department was contacted by Ms*** on May 19, in regards to her accountThe Assistant Director of Financial Aid clearly explained the charges to Ms***, while identifying the credited itemsIn conclusion of the conversation, Ms*** confirmed that she understood and would call the Collection Agency to set up a payment plan

The following is a response to allegations made in the consumer complaint, case #XXXXXXX
The complainant, a previous practical nursing student from 2012-2013, alleges that she was told by a visiting StLouis College of Health Career (SLCHC)
graduate that credits would be accepted by University Missouri-StLouisShe also alleges that the Admissions Department had a list of colleges that would accept SLCHC credits
SLCHC clearly states in the 2012-catalog on page that "Note: StLouis College of Health Careers cannot dictate which, if any of the College's course credits will transfer to another institutionTransferring credits from SLCHC is at the discretion of the accepting institution." Additionally, the complainant signed a Student Statement of Acknowledgement on October 31, The acknowledgement includes the following statement: "Transfer of Credis not guaranteed that any courses from StLouis College of Health Careers will transfer to another institutionIt is at the discretion of the gaining institution whether or not to accept courses." The Director of Admissions has furthermore confirmed that no list of colleges accepting SLCHC credits was circulating in the Admissions Department
The complainant stated that she was dismissed from the program due to the outcomes of one course
Upon review of the complainant's transcript, the complainant did not meet the required threshold for three courses in her senior semesterThe Practical Nursing Student Handbook does state that "Students are only allowed to fail one core nursing course; more than one failure will result in dismissal from the program"The complainant signed an acknowledgement form on January 5, stating that "The contents of the handbook were discussed and my questions about the handbook have been answered"The complainant was dismissed due to violating the multi-course failure policyAn Academic Warning letter was sent to the complainant on March 6, recommending tutoringAdditional advisement took place on March 23, with further recommendations and resources givenThe complainant confirmed during a meeting on April 23, that she did not request tutoringFurthermore, the complainant received attendance warnings on January 23, and February 29, 2012, and previous academic warnings on July 10, and October 18, The complainant met with her instructor on January 7, and February 4, about concerns in regards to clinical rotationsA documented competency action plan signed by both the instructor and the complainant is on file
The complainant alleges that she did not need to take out a loan, and that her credit went down due to all of the student loans she had while attending StLouis College of Health Careers
As part of the enrollment process, each student who enrolls with SLCHC meets with the Financial Aid Department to discuss a personal Financial Plan that best fits his/her needsIf not able to pay for schooling up front, out of pocket, students are given the option to complete the FAFSA (Federal Application for Federal Student Aid) to apply for federal student aidAccording to our records, the complainant completed her 2011/Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) on 12/20/On 12/29/2011, the complainant attended her one on one meeting with our financial aid representativeShe elected to apply for Federal Student Loans, completed Entrance Counseling, and signed the following documentation: Financial Aid Worksheet, Financial Aid Award letter, Master Promissory Notes and the Loan Information PageAll signed documents clearly indicate the types of loans and loan amounts the student elected to draw for her educational expensesOn 10/11/the complainant completed her 2012/FAFSA renewal and elected to use FSA Student loans again for her second academic year, and signed a new Financial Aid Award Letter and Loan Information PageBoth documents include the loan information complainant chose to borrow
