What started this problem was I received a bill dated 9/26/from this center for an amount of$that I still owedWhen on my surgery date of 02/11/I had to pay in advance the amount of $which I didAs it turns out I called on 10/to discuss this billAs it turns out [redacted] who called me right back and said I was correct and that I was due $doe to an overpayment as my insurance paid $on 9/As of 10/I had not received my refund so I called the center and talked to *** She that the refund generated on 10/13, but it still Needed approval by a doctor which I understood and I probably would not receive until the end of October I called again on 10/as I had not received the refundI talked to [redacted] and she said [redacted] would call me either the following Monday or TuesdayAgain I called back on 11/because no one called me She then told me that they have to put the info into a new system and had no idea when that would take place, maybe I could cal

Center charged overcharged me on my visit on The collected from my insurance company as well as collecting payment from me on the day of surgery It is November 18th and they still have not provided the refund to me for the overcharge They want to 'explain' the problem but do not have any interest in solving the problem First-they need to take customer service classes The don't have a clue Second-they knew what the insurance company was going to pay and overcharged me anyway Frightening to think that I allowed them to do surgery on my eye They are completely clueless and unprofessional Just a warning to others---they don't really care about you at all!

St. Louis Eye Surgery and Laser Center is in receipt of complaint [redacted].  I acknowledge the patient's complaint and am submitting a formal response.The patient had surgery at St. Louis Eye Surgery and Laser Center on 09/07/2016 (DOS).  In accordance with insurance contracts and standard...

medical collecting processes, the facility collected:a)   The 20% co-insurance due from the patient of $184.00b)   The amount of the patient's unmet deductible as of the time that the insurance benefits were verified ($250.00).c)   Total collected from patient on DOS was $434.00.

St. Louis Eye Surgery and Laser Center is in receipt of complaint [redacted].  I acknowledge the patient's complaint and am submitting a formal response.The patient had surgery at St. Louis Eye Surgery and Laser Center on 09/07/2016 (DOS).  In accordance with insurance contracts and standard medical collecting processes, the facility collected:St. Louis Eye Surgery and Laser Center sent a claim to the patient's insurance company 09/16/2016.The explanation of benefits (EOB) was received, cross-reference, posted, and refund request generated 10/05/2016.A check to the patient for $200.00 was generated on 11/17/2016.  The check was noted to have cleared the bank 11/25/2016.St. Louis Eye Surgery and Laser Center has chosen to open a quality study case initiated by this patient's complaint in order to better improve our refund processes.  We understand that timely refunds are very important, most especially our patient age demographic.  We appreciate the patient's time in bringing this issue to the forefront so we have the opportunity to improve our patient's experience.
